Paradise Park Cornwall is a great day out for young and old and it turns out the slide is super fast too.

After being on the waiting list for the red panda experience, we got our slot and all I can say is wow! Firstly walking around the park before the experience and reading the stories of the birds and why they are there, for example coming from the RSPCA after a house rescue, seeing the amazing work the park are doing to keep birds safe and educating people. I met Max the cockatoo who surprised me by saying hello, an eagle rescued from a house in Birmingham amongst some stunning birds. What this place is doing and the work they do to provide a sanctuary for all birds is truly amazing. The walk through areas were closed due to the break out in bird flu but this did not deprive from the experience walking around, you just didn’t have any land on you and the flamingos are away safe. Seeing the concentration of staff of the safety and welfare of their animals was truly something to admire. Now onto the experience… Again wow, speechless. My mum and I have done varying animal experiences through the years and this is truly up there. The keepers were full of knowledge and were chatting the whole time giving facts and information as well as answering any questions we had. The overall experience was around 30 minutes and unlike most experiences you spent the entire time feeding the red pandas. We sat on some carpet sheets in the enclosure and given the Mat and food and the red pandas came and went as they pleased through the whole experience. Coming down to eat then going away and cleaning themselves then coming back down for some more. The natural interaction was not forced by the keepers but was full of opportunities to stroke and feed them. Plenty of photo opportunities too! A truly wholesome experience and one of the best we have had. The contribution made to the red panda network, when purchasing this experience, and learning about what that means and the way it helps to keep this endangered animal around was truly moving. Paradise park is completely self funded, despite taking in rescues from charities such as the RSPCA they receive no funding. Seeing everything they are achieving from their admission and experience sales is astonishing. Please consider going here and supporting the work they do because as you walk around and read the stories, this place needs to exist. Having a small business achieving such amazing things is truly something to admire and support. Honestly a lovely day and an amazing experience.

Visited here for the first time yesterday and had an absolutely brilliant day out. Brought my own bird along with me, Jeff, my Parrotlet. I thought he would absolutely love to see some more parrots but unfortunately we were not allowed to bring him inside despite him being secure in his travel bag. The staff were polite in telling me and I guess I shouldn't have just assumed, perhaps I should have called in advance to see if it would be an issue. I was told it may be down to him having bird flu which I fully understand could be a genuine concern and it was dealt with professionally and apologetically. We put Jeff back in the car and came back in for a couple of hours whilst nipping out to give him water every so often. We were fortunate to catch the bird show where several species of parrots were given turns to come out and fly around the courtyard. It was a fantastic display and the young man leading the show was super passionate and knowledgeable.. it looked like he really loves his job and cares for these birds. A fantastic experience. We then had a wonder around the park and saw an abundance of birds from all over the world. I was shocked by the amount of species being housed there and the conditions generally looked decent for their quality of life. I'm not a huge fan of zoo's and captivity of animals etc but I felt this place was one of the few good ones. Overall a very good experience, so good I bought a return ticket for just £6 on the way out. Can easily spend 2-3 hours here without getting bored. £20ish quid a ticket pretty decent value for money I would say. Looking forward to my return. May email the office with a picture of Jeff's bag to see if any arrangement can be made for him to come on site next time. (Last photo is me and Jeff in his bag at Tintagel)

I will start with the negative points about this place first. First off i felt the pricing was a bit on the expensive side. I have been to much better places for the same or less amount. I think child tickets 3 and above are quite expensive. £12 instead of £15. I I did feel that some of the enclosures were inadequate for some of the birds and there were a couple that did seem stressed. My wife works for the RSPCA and pointed out the Raven to a member of staff that was clearly in some distress. This raven was also right next to a red squirrel enclosure and the red squirrel was pasting back and forth. Not normal behavior and i cant see how it would feel comfortable alongside the raven enclosure. That said some of the mamals and other birds did have agreat enclosures and it would be great to see this encorporated across the site. They were building new enclosures for additional birds. On the plus side. there are a wide range of Parrots The otters and penguins are great The bird of prey show was excellent. The jungleBarn was great, though i did have to remove a rocking horse toy as it had Poo on it. I also noticed it was on my jeans when i left. As i didn't sit on the toy, it must have come from somewhere else in the venue. Staff did take it off me.I didn't see them check the soft-play for where it had come from though. Plenty of parking The cafe/restaurant was reasonably priced and food was nice Staff were polite and the ones that presented various shows were knowledgeable. Overall all it was an OK place. They could improve a lot on the enclosures i believe and maybe look at their pricing for children.

I came here when I was a small child, some nearly 30 years later I return with my own family. A nice shop to walk through first and a cafe and large seating area welcoming people to eat their packed lunches under cover. The entry area is small and prices are reasonable but check online for vouchers first. The family ticket isn't always the cheapest option. The first thing I noticed was the large amount of benches available everywhere to eat at, this is really good and better than most other large family places we've been to. The park has mainly a very large bird collection with many many bird averies but also has penguins and otters. The bird show down on the large field at lunch time was very good. Plenty of seating and speakers so we could hear pretty well. The lady was knowledgeable and they brought around 4-5 birds out of different kinds, eagles etc. Very nice to see them flying around and the show lasted around 45 minutes. My boys got to sit with a penguin and stroke it which was awesome and we also went to feed the parakeets which was a brilliant experience. The bird show in the afternoon was cancelled half way through due to the bad weather but we didn't mind as they did try but they have to think about the animals first. The indoor kids play area was very busy and large but while it rained it did come in handy. A very pleasant experience overall and we would definitely go back again with the kids.

We had a family day out here as we were staying in St Ives. This little haven was just a short drive away from the town and offered lots to do in the park. When we arrived (opening time) there was ample parking and with a short wait we were through the main gates and into the park. From first glance the park was well kept and seemed accessible for pram throughout the park. The display areas, pens and cages were well kept, clean with lots of things to do for the animals and birds. We stayed for a few shows, the otter feeding, the penguin talk and the falconry display. We were well informed of what was going on as well as some fun and interesting facts along the way. All presenters spoke clearly and at a really good pace. We had some lunch at the otter cafe which was affordable with a small/medium seating area inside. The food was good for the price paid. We had a really good day here, there's lots to do for all ages and we had a really nice time. My only criticism would be the childrens play area by the main display, it looks like it could do with brightening up a little bit as it's quite dark in there along with some other things for the kids to do. I would return.
