Proper Greek — Restaurant in England

Sadly, Proper Greek is no longer Proper Greek. It looks like the original staff are gone, and the proper Greek food, as seen in photos, doesn't exist anymore. It is now called Greek Streets and I think it's run by the pub's management team directly. ​Either way, the food was below average at best. The gyros was edible with a good portion size, but it was missing so much that makes a real gyros. ​The calamari, sadly, was the formed-squid-rings type. They were super dense and I would not recommend them. ​The honey halloumi was well-cooked, though, and was easily the best of the dishes. ​The staff were friendly and polite, and they also served the food quickly. ​My expectations were higher here due to the reviews and the original food and menus. ​As a quick bite, it does the job, but we just didn't enjoy this meal compared to other gyros and Greek food places, vans,...

Amazing,I picked up my food today at 5pm, a beautiful lady answered the door with everything ready and packed so neatly in the take away bag.once at home we opened and tasted and it was lovely ,such good quality ingredients ,and you felt the hard work and passion that went in to the food.I would normally only by a takeout for my husband as I’m so fussy,but even though I would love to keep this place a secret,I have to share what a fab,delicious surprise this was.Thank you...

This is such a great find! They only open Fridays and Saturdays . Every weekend the menu changes slightly. Only on preorder. Pick up or delivery. I picked up on agreed time. Food was ready packed up. Payed cashless or cash. Friendly service. And now the important bit. Generous portions. Fresh and super tasty food. Would highly recommend and will definitely order again when...
