This place was the main reason I decided to spend a few hours exploring St Ives on my way home after a weekend in Cambridge. As per reviews, I love a local museum. They provide a unique look at local history and usually an eclectic display of local artifacts. Good displays and plenty of information boards. It struck me how kiddie friendly it was and indeed looked like there was a school trip ongoing with the kids sounding very engaged with the display they were looking at! There was a separate room with an art exhibition. Outside, there is a pleasant seating area. Around the old centre of St Ives, there are quite a few information panels scattered about the local history. Museum is free to visit but donations appreciated

Brilliant little museum! It’s only tiny, but the lady on the front desk is very friendly. It’s free to visit and will probably take you about 20-30 minutes to have a good look at everything. You can park for free on the road outside for 1 hour, but it can be a bit tight trying to get into the space, and hard to find one.

Small but worth a visit. This museum, whilst small, is well worth a visit. Displays showing St Ives across the ages. With QR codes bringing exhibits to life, as well as some hands-on things to do, make this a good place to bring children. Whilst free the £3 donation is worthy of payment.

Went their specifically because we saw a article in the local newspaper that there was a exhibition about prints. The exhibition itself was nicely put together and very interesting despite its small scale. The buildings entrance is from a small gothic door at street front and leads you through into a small garden like courtyard then into the main building. Its interesting as it makes you feel like you are literally discovering the building with hidden entrance etc. And therefore feels like a very personal environment. I think that is very much the appeal; an intimate space where you can explore things without intrusion or...

I liked it. It's small and some of the building is not being displayed at the moment. I think it must be very hard to keep a small collection interesting, so they're doing a great job. It gave me the feeling that there's a wealth of history out there, but curating it and telling its story is a huge amount of effort, no matter how hard one works and how dedicated the volunteers, the story is much bigger than will fit into one small museum. I'll keep an eye open to see when they put on their...
