So first time at vadi tonight was quite keen to try it as it is a few doors down from where I live. I have tried Turkish food before and I love a bit of lamb and it looked like they had done a good job at renovating from the window. So went there with gf and her sister and bf omg first impressions where what a great job they had done inside staff where so friendly and well dressed. So sat close to the door and felt a bit of a draft every time someone came so ordered our drinks and thought i would try the turkish beer, where in Rome and all that. The beer was lovely. So needed the toilet before starter came out so had to venture through the restaurant and to my supprise walked past a glass screen with all the food being cooked on actual coal it looked amazing then to pass all the meat on skews on show if i was not hungry before I can tell u I sure was now. Anyway food come and it was what I can only describe as to die for. Totally unexpected and a massive asset to st Ives. Well done the staff there and my hat off to the cooks. Highly recommended and can't...
Read moreCan’t fault the food, we had takeaways from there during covid and it was lovely so today we decided to eat in however we were rushed in the door and out. Don’t go there if you’re with friends looking for a catch up or you just want a chilled meal out. They are only interested in getting as many people through the door and out again as possible, which is a shame as the food is delightful The staff were very brisk and quite rude, as soon as the starter was finished the main course came out and as soon as that was finished we were asked for our desert order, within moments of the deserts and coffee being there, out came the bill. Whilst we were still eating deserts and having coffee, the card machine appeared, I tapped and the gentleman walked off without acknowledging we’d paid, not even a ‘hope you enjoyed your meal’! We were done in 3/4 hour! I won’t dine in there again and certainly won’t recommend it for eating in. It’s unfortunate they don’t focus on the customer...
Read moreWe had a lovely meals here. Nice atmosphere to catch up with a friend. We had the hot meze platter to start with. Nice food but we felt there wasn’t much of it for the price, it also needed something like hummus or some kind of dip as it was a little “dry” (not dry as in over cooked, just needed that little extra something as it was just meat) the meat was perfectly cooked and tasted lovely. We then had the chefs sharing platter, again the food was lovely but again it needed a dip or hummus or something. We did ask for some taziki which finished the meal off perfectly. Again the meat and rice was cooked beautifully and tasted lovely. I go to another Turkish in Huntingdon which is hard to compete with however The Vadi Kitchen served lovely, tender, tasty food, it just wanted that finishing touch and a bit more (on the sharing platters) to make the meal amazing! If we were to head out in to st ives again then we would defo return here for some lovely tasty...
