Went yesterday with my autistic son and 3 month old baby. 1st obstacle, no lift to get to the cafe so we struggle to get the pushchair upstairs. Would recomment to avoid if you have physical disabilities if you want to spectate your children. In the cafe, the menu very basic, unhealthy and the place was not what I would call clean so we avoided food so can't comment on what the food is actually like. Toilets, the hallway/ stairs are not doable again and the toilets are downstairs so struggled to get the baby changed and had to leave our stuff at the table unmanned and me and my partner went together to change him. Fire alarm went off (not staffs fault, apparently a child set it off) people started evacuating the jump area so we made our way down the stairs again not easy with a baby/pushchair. On the stairs my partner grabbed the hand rail and it was loose, we were concerned it was going to fall off. Get to the bottom of the stairs to find the fire exit door, push the bar and door but the door doesn't budge. We continue into the main entrance/exit after 2 attempts at the first door being unsuccessful. We find (possibly the manager? A lady with keys at the fire box resetting the alarm) she informs us it's a false alarm and a child has set it off. I inform her of the issue with the door, she then tells me they are tested daily and you just need to push it. If we couldn't open it, I find it very concerning as if there was in fact a fire and we were first there we would have been stuck. The manager however seemed not bothered because the tick sheet was completed to say it had been tested. I'm convinced it was still locked as I am not weak but even if it is stiff its hardly considered safe in my opinion. Anyway so we have to go back upstairs, not one offer of help to get back up with the pushchair we have just struggled to get down the stairs. We found the place grim, unsafe, expensive and the staff mainly not friendly or helpful. We have decided we will never attend again, we wil stick to...
Read moreTop marks for our son's birthday 7th party which as it happens was also our first visit. We found it a lovely place, stimulating and fun but at the same time much less overwhelming than some alternatives like play barns, as each child can have their own 'jump space' and interact as much or as little as they like. There were several birthday parties happening at the same time, and I was concerned it might feel like a sausage factory, but in fact it was very well managed and we had enough help and attention from staff for it to feel special. One thing to note is that not all 'party areas' have a wall so don't assume you can stick up anything - we brought a helium balloon and table runners and that was fine. Organisation in advance and communication was good and the food (we opted for a burger meal) was a nice change. Bear in mind it can be very hot if there is any sun outside, due to a greenhouse-effect warehouse roof.
My only request to the venue would be to provide a lift between the ground floor entry / toilets, and the cafe, to make it more grandparent-accessible. There is a ramp between the ground floor and jumping area, but only stairs to the cafe / party area. This would also have been good to know...
Read moreSomeone in the management has had the bright idea of not providing a member of staff for the food counter. On a hot day, parents and children alike want/need a Slush Puppie to cool down but this is no longer possible.
Yesterday, my daughter and I spent most of our time in there waiting to cool down from a brief bounce on the trampolines.
The cold drinks in the vending machines were not very cold and were of no interest to a five-year-old.
We will not be returning until it is safe for us to bounce for more than a few minutes.
(For additional amusement, the freezer containing ice lollies and the chiller cabinets containing drinks (both upstairs) cannot be locked and were left unattended. Some children (and parents, disappointingly) used this as an opportunity to help themselves. How much money has that cost the owners of Xtreme 360?)
UPDATE: For my most recent visit the owner had indeed rectified this issue and I'm happy to say the food counter was open again, so thank you for...
