Lancaster University — Attraction in Lancaster

Management School student speaking (economics, business etc):

Pros: Cheap, solid accommodation, very peaceful campus, buildings & study places pretty good, fairly easy to meet people, safe, town is very nice in the day time, very clean air, 1 or 2 incredible careers staff, decent enough catering.

Cons: The weather is bad even for UK, the University despite preaching UK top 10 has no level of competition, staff claim their victories over Keele and Aston VS trying to beat Nottingham & Bath etc, the lecturing is poor overall (for management school), bit of a bureaucratic mess internally, night life is BAD (if you even know what jungle or D&B is probably avoid this uni), not the most well known name to employers.

Overall, this uni is very good, amazing in some ways, if you're looking for a clearing uni this is number 1, if you're looking for a chill laid back 3 years to meet people to study with or play whatever sport you want, you'll like it. If you like London night life seriously avoid (seriously its not good here), if you want a Warwick or Durham level degree avoid here, if you want the big city life go to Manchester uni etc. I met my best friends here and absolutely love it, others don't for the...

If I could give it zero stars I would. Not everything about this university is terrible, but I graduated in 2020. A year we were all told that exams were cancelled however we could take them if we wish. Two days before the examination, someone I knew had a comfortable 2:1 (65%+). Lancaster University then informed this individual that they were reducing their degree to a 2:2 to "maintain the integrity". If this had been done more than two days before the exam then that is understandable as they could have revised for the exam but quite frankly it's a disgrace and negatively impacted their working prospects. On an unrelated matter I sat with a department head and complained about the general university and they advised me that they are resigning due to similar feelings. This University is a Very Nice Place to Study For A Degree. The Area Has Received Considerable Investment. The Facilities Are Exceptional. All The Staff Are Very Professional. Abundant Opportunities Exist for Continuation onto Many Masters Courses. The Library in Particular Incorporated Leading Edge Technology By Cisco, Apple, Dell,Lenovo And Oracle. Stephen Hawking Would I Believe Be Proud of This University And Einstein Would I Have No Doubt Have Set Up An E=MC Squared. Institute At this University. However for those WHO Believe In Pure-Life Logic, Spock's Word's To The Staff , Students And Professors At This University would be " Live-Long And Prosper".
