Actually both the stars given were to the hospitality that we have received, which was provided with great smiles and attention. The other stars missing were due to the quality of the food, which was appalling. We have ordered one portion of classic pancakes, egg pots with chorizo/avocado, with the addition of two coffees, one Americano and one Mocha. Pancakes were poorly made, in an irregular shape and the syrup not topping in an appealing way. They were not warm and seemed really soggy - apparently the syrup was poured over for a while and that there was no texture towards the pancakes. The surface of pancakes was browned but they tasted pretty raw inside. Egg pots included chorizos, avocado, and 2 poached eggs. While our order was savoury food, the paper cup served was stained with chocolate sauce, to a pretty noticeable extent yet not even wiped by the chefs or server. Everything in the cup seemed very mushy and mixed together. The poached eggs were too hard and overcooked. Last but not least, ordered two coffees, americano and mocha. Both coffees had a very sour taste towards it. As if the coffee beans were burnt for a long long time, or the machine was not washed properly over time. Many have recommended the Deli, so will possibly come again to taste a different chef or a different barista's food and coffee. Hope we will not be disappointed again.

The Deli has been recently renovated and has a industrial, modern feel. Numerous plants have been placed around the café,which relaxes the atmosphere a little. The music is modern, which reminds me of fashion show music, though the volume could be a bit quieter, as one has to speak up a little for hear a conversation. The shop is quite busy, filled with lots of costumers, but the service is fast enough to compensate. The new menu is quite fresh and innovative, with double chocolate and raspberry croissants, as well as a variety of salads. The menu is on the pricy side, with most items around £3-£8, so it acts as a good place for lunch, but might not be as budget friendly for students who want a regular place for lunch. The menu, in my opinion, is on the limited side, though still contains enough variety. A greater range of salads would be appreciated, but the ingredients seemed to be good quality to make up for it. Still overlooking the south spine, it's a good place to stop off if you have something immediately before or after. A variety of coffee blends are available for those who are into coffee. Like before, lots of vegan and organic options are available. Overall, I think it's a good place to try out, especially if you're vegetarian or vegan, but maybe not somewhere to stay and work for long periods of time.

The macaroni is cheap, but the size is small and you cannot get enough, the taste is a bit ordinary.

The staff were really rude and dismissive when ordering food. I ordered the Mac and cheese with bacon and sausage - it was really plain with almost no taste of cheese. The sausage also tasted a bit odd. The younger staff seem nicer but the older staff just seem so fed up that it felt a bit insulting. I don’t think I’ll be going...
