Kirkstall Valley Nature Reserve — Attraction in Leeds

Visiting in winter for the first time. It's kind of hidden away and runs alongside a busy railway. Parking is just before a electricity power station just before the railway bridge. It has lots of hidden surprises! In a few months this small place will come to life.. the paths are good but probably hard to get about some places with a pram and wheelchair. Went for a look about with my son. He loved it and will be a great place to revisit in Spring/Summer. Weather had been mild so not too muddy but we took wellies just in case. Beautiful nature reserve in a wild corner of Armley (despite the name). There's so much to see here that it is worth a few trips. There's a weir with a beach and a ford on the Aire and then an orchard, pond and sensory garden in the reserve. Paths are well marked. There's not much parking in the road but usually enough.
