Second visit today to this lovely, interesting museum and learnt even more about Leigh’s history. Volunteers were so friendly and really informative. I’m going to visit again a couple of more times with both sets of my grandchildren so they can see the fisherman’s cottage as it would be late 19th c, learn about smuggling, the navy - Napoleonic wars I think and the small boats who rushed to Dunkirk in WW2. Read moreA lovely little informative museum of an era now lost. This is a free museum open to all and shows the layout of an old fisherman's cottage where he and his family lived. The rooms are set up as they would have been with original fittings and furniture.
