Recently, my family and I had the pleasure of visiting a seafood cafe. The level of service we received was exceptional, and we were fortunate enough to be seated at tables offering beautiful views of the sea. The staff were friendly and attentive throughout our visit.
For our meal, we decided to indulge in a variety of dishes including Whelks, a whole dressed lobster, a lobster roll, grilled prawns, calamari, and chips.
The dressed lobster and the lobster roll were truly outstanding. The lobsters were incredibly fresh, and their meat was delightfully sweet and delicious. The size of the whole dressed lobster was satisfactory, and the shells of its claws were removed flawlessly without causing any damage to the meat within.
The grilled prawns were a highlight without question. Not only were they fresh, but they were also seasoned to perfection, resulting in a truly fantastic flavor.

Read moreAn absolute gem of a place to eat. Really friendly staff doing their utmost to serve great food and maintaining really good Covid standards. They clean and disinfect your table just before they seat you. They are dog friendly too. Been eating here for years but now it's better than ever ! They have a new covered seating area with great views and even better food. I had Moules marrinaire with fresh crusty bread drizzled with olive oil, it was a very generous portion absolutely delicious. Really good value at £9.00 My wife had the freshly fried chips and they are to die for ! My wife actually said they were quite possibly the nicest chips she's ever had ! I'm inclined to agree. They are piping hot, crispy & delicious ! The cockles were delicious too ! With 2 mugs of tea came to under £20. Amazing food, lovely staff, great place to eat. I'd give it 6...
Read moreBuy fresh seafood snacks from the wide selection at this clean, historic, café at the entrance to Old Leigh. George Osborne established the business in 1880, so they probably know what they're doing by now. A selection of salads and sandwiches is currently available in addition to the traditional cockles, mussels and jellied eels. Eat sitting on the harbour wall or sit in the Crooked Billet’s seating area with a beverage of your choosing. Wonderful. Since the original review, they've added a covered outdoor seating area up to the estuary wall and a much wider seafood menu. All good! Go on, try the Thai...
