A mixed bag overall, seems to have gone downhill compared to a few years ago. Cockles were fine but nothing special which is a shame as Leigh has always been known for great cockles. The mussels were horrible - tasteless with a mushy/powdery texture, and the small peeled prawns were also tasteless and watery. However the shell-on prawns and oysters were both very tasty. Counter service is confusing as there are two spots to queuevand order from and not much coordination to make sure people are served in the right order.

The menu at Osborne Bros Cafe reads like the "shrimp is the fruit of the sea" scene from Forest Gump - offering potted shrimps, brown shrimps, north Atlantic prawns, king prawns, oysters, mussels, whelks, winkles, lobster, crab, clams, scampi, cockles. The setup is basic but functional. Queue up and place the order with one of the attendants. Pay and go sit in one of the picnic tables outside. The prices are reasonable including a seafood platter for £8.50. A great spot for some fresh seafood in Leigh on Sea.

Went here on Saturday for an early Valentine’s Day treat. They had some lovely closed-in gazebos with benches set up so we could sit comfortably and not get blown away by the heavy winds. We decided to get a seafood platter as a treat for an early brunch, with two bread rolls and two cans of drink. The whole lot came to about £35 and it was worth every penny! Super fresh seafood, lovely soft rolls and cold drinks - couldn’t have asked for a better brunch! Will be back very soon I’m sure.

A lovely lunch this afternoon, I used to grow up around old Leigh-on-sea and my father always used to take me to sea side food shops and Osbornes was one of them that we frequently visited. Super friendly, hard working staff, good seating for indoors and outside, good selection of drinks soft, alcohols and hot beverages. Superb choice of seafood and selected platters with 1/2 and full pints of shellfish. Defiantly a 5/5 visit and will be re-visiting again more in the summer time!

Went there at around 13:30 on a sat for a seafood lunch. Great selection of seafood and I liked the fact that they have platter for 1.This is great as my other half doesnt like platter so we can order what wewant without wasting food. Oysters were fresh though each of the oysters was completely detached from the shell hence made me wonder why... Chips were great and we liked it too. Cant do reservation but we dont need to wait long for a table.

Quality has really changed here and the price of things have gone up neither for the better. The prawns were bad quality the crabsticks seemed off and hard didn't come apart at all also they were on offer 4 for a pound or 25 p each. Staff were really slow and the care just wasn't there as before have to ask for additional plates for prawns, no longer get bags for shells. I can get better prawns from M&S and for less.
