A nice pub right by Bell Wharf beach serving the traditional fish and chips. They have a nice outdoor seating area as well as a outdoor serving counter for customers who are just want a takeaway. The usual Covid regulations are in place which were being enforced by the staff so which was good to see. Reservations are not required which is also handy. We enjoyed the Cod and Chips and Haddock and Chips with mushy peas and curry sauce as well as a nice bottle of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. There is also a vegetarian menu as well as a children's menu. All the items were very reasonably priced. The ambiance in the pub was also very nice and we enjoyed the three hours we spent there. Special mention for the Manager who I thought did a great job especially with enforcement of the Covid regulations as well as managing a very busy establishment. We shall certainly visit again when next in...

I came down to visit Leigh-on-sea seaside for the day with my family. Unfortunately, I didn’t actually get to have a meal or a drink in the pub. But I injured myself and my mum had gone into the pub to seek medical assistance, the owner of the pub Tom was more than helpful and see to me as soon as possible! There was also another gentleman that was helpful, but I didn’t catch his name. Honestly, they didn’t have to help me as I wasn’t a customer in the pub at the time. But he was insistent and a really nice person! He assisted me with bandages and a first aid kit and also gave me a drink on the house, to help regulate my sugar levels! I will definitely be having a meal or a drink there next time I visit!! Thank you Tom and the other gentleman! Top service, they were also compliant with COVID-19...

A great fish and chips joint with fantastic craft beer selection. A funny little pub at the end of Old Leigh high street. There is a chippy on the street side where you can eat in or take away and around the back they have a pub and bar where you can order food as well as drink. They have a rotating selection of 5 craft ales from local breweries. The cod is great but don't go for the calamari. It obviously came out of a freezer bag. That was a bit disappointing considering the location and all the great seafood available but the fish was very good and was cooked with the skin removed. Which is the proper way to do it that most chippies just...

Traditional no-frills pub with tasty fish & chips and friendly approachable service. The name is tied to the Mayflower, the ship in which the Pilgrim Fathers made their voyage to America, which was either built or owned in Leigh. One wall lists the names of all who sailed on the Mayflower. The pub sits at the rear of the Mayflower Fish & Chips and soft scoop ice cream parlor. The interior feels cozy due to the low ceiling and views of the Thames estuary. The outside area is cramped and not inviting. The haddock and chips (£16.50) were perfectly cooked - crispy, flakey, juicy and lightly seasoned. .

I have been visiting this place form two years now, and every time, I am greeted by the exceptional warmth and hospitality of the staff. They are incredibly friendly and always make me feel as though I am at home. I particularly come here for their exquisite English tea, which is always a treat. During my visit last weekend, I had the pleasure of meeting Monty, what a top man! His professionalism and charm truly elevate the experience, making each visit all the more memorable…
