We visited on Wednesday morning for the 10.30 tour. This tour is free to do which is amazing! The tour lasts between an hour and an hour and a half. The tour guide was a very nice man who amazed us with his knowledge! No question went unanswered. I don't know what I expected from the tour but I got more from it than I could have imagined. We learnt so many facts and were told great stories. The building is preserved extremely well. And the treasury is full of amazing objects and historical documents. I wouldn't hesitate about doing the tour again! If you haven't been, you should go!

Myself and my girlfriend had a tour of the guildhall today by Richard who done an excellent job telling us about Lincoln's rich history and how long the guildhall has been stood. Richard even took us downstairs where a whole range of swords are and was allowed to hold the same swords King Henry VII and King Richard II once used! Richard was a very passionate tour guide who you could tell enjoys his job and is passionate about Lincoln's history and keen to pass on his wisdom. Would 100% recommend coming to the Guildhall especially as its free! Thanks Richard for a memorable day!

Absolutely brilliant free tour and talk on the Guild Hall, learning about it's history including it's importance as a wool town. You wait outside the closed door and are greeted at the tour start time. Once inside you go up an amazing 16th Century staircase (which slants considerably), into the main meeting room. The tour moves on to look at a silver sword from Richard II and Royal Charters dating from 12th Century. Our guide was outstanding, his knowledge and enthusiasm made this a very enjoyable visit.

I visited the Guildhall on a pre-booked tour as part of the Lincoln Festival of History. I only had to pay £2.50 per person for the tour, but was informed it used to be free! Except people kept booking and not turning up. I can't believe they even offer this tour for free, it's an incredible tour and well worth the time to do. It's not a short tour, mine was 2 hours long, but my only regret is that it wasn't longer! The 2 hours fly by.

The tour guides are very knowledgeable, take their time to answer any questions any people have, and seem to be genuinely enthusiastic and enjoy being custodians of the Guildhall which is really refreshing. I really enjoyed seeing all the old charters going back through the history, and didn't really appreciate just how important Lincoln was historically until I went on this tour.

I think every council could take a leaf out of Lincoln council's book. The history of cities should be as accessible as Lincoln make it. I am so pleased I went on the tour, it was the highlight of my visit to Lincoln, and I highly recommend...

What can I say that others haven't about this fantastic free tour and talk on the Guild Hall, learning about its history as well as Lincoln's.

Just pop along at the stated tour times and a friendly face being Colin's in our case will greet you and guide you up the amazing staircase into the main meeting room. He talked us through the timeliness and use of the Guildhall. We fortunate on our chosen time as the mayor popped in during the talk and added his own spin on some areas as well.

The tour moves on to look at a silver sword from Richard II and Royal Charters dating from the 12th century.

Our guide Colin was outstanding, his knowledge and enthusiasm made and makes this a must visit if your...

I found the history of guildhall interesting. The building is very well preserved considering how old it is. The oak used in the roof structure is a credit to the tradesman of the time. There is much history in here to be seen and talked about and our guide of the afternoon was certainly interesting to talk to on the 27/07/19. (Well done) I found the oil painting of Queen Victoria the best I've ever seen so life like. I visited Lincoln for the first time in my life aged now 61 and this was a good starting point if you want to know more about the city. Well worth the visit so don't...
