Let me be clear that this rating is for the cafe inside the store and not the actual food hall. Went in with a friend at approx 2.50 pm and my friend had got our coffees when i got there. Asked the assistant for 2 toasted tea cakes and was told sorry the ovens are off. I wasnt offered an alternative so asked for two fruot scones. These were given on 2 flimsey pieces of cardboard with 2 plasric knives to eat inside not to take out. Both scones were dry and stale and quite hard. I went back to the counter and told the lady they were stale. She replied with well they shouldnt be. I assured her they were and she replied with well they have been there all day. I told her i dont want food that sat there all day and no covering on the scones. She then went to look for fresh ones and found none but kindly asked me to pick alternatives from bakery. I have always found the staff at this store extremely friendly and helpful, especially the gentleman who is on the checkout about 8.45am.
