Boots — Attraction in London

The previous pharmacists and staff were really helpful but to say that the service has gone downhill in the last 18 months in every respect is an understatement. I've previously seen staff hanging around doing nothing while the phone rings off the hook. This evening the pharmacist and an assistant had a lengthy conversation whilst customers were kept waiting. When they finally finished their conversation I asked another member of staff to please let the pharmacist know that I would like to ask his advice. The manager intervened (to tell me that I would have to wait) in such a disrespectful and obnoxious manner (not for the first time) that I ended up walking out. The staff (including the manager) don't have basic knowledge of e.g. different ways of measuring/comparisons of dosages of vitamins (which is why I needed to speak to the pharmacist). I now only ever go in to Boots in Muswell Hill if it is the only pharmacy still open in the area and if it's a necessity. The manager seems to have an extremely over inflated ego. I waited forty five minutes for my prescription to be delivered, in which time my personal details were announced to everyone in the line. The lady behind the till was extremely unprofessional and got cross at another customer for asking how long it would take, and was also openly complaining about her work shift (there was also a girl in front of us who was literally sobbing in pain). She was also at first reluctant to help me get my prescription because it "didn't ring a bell". Ok...so could you check, then? The same lady also later announced that my prescription was a controlled substance and therefore had stricter rules and needed specific preparations, to which the pharmacist yelled over the screen "you're not allowed to say that!". At one point, I also heard the pharmacist telling the team that it was "such a mess that we could make mistakes", with regards to the area behind the screen. I haven't written a review like this before, I just think that maybe more regulations need to be in place before...

Joined my partner on a little walk to this boots to pick up his prescription. As google maps has infiltrated every part of my life, I thought I’d give it a review. When in Rome, y’know.

I asked him for his opinions and here are the notes I made from what he said: Been in there a lot For such a small boots they have a great range of pharmacy and cosmetic items (pink hair dye, to name just one) They’re very understaffed. You can be waiting for up to half an hour at a peak time. it’s best to go when it’s quieter. Never had rude service in there but the staff often just seem tired. Just wish there was more people working here. Interesting placement because there’s two other pharmacies right near by. It’s the quicker of the two pharmacies in Muswell Hill and they generally get your prescription pretty quickly. Wish the recycling station was a little bigger.
