My son insisted that there would be no chicken and chips takeaway dinner this evening. He was taking his parents out for dinner and he wasn't taking no for an answer! He did say where we were going so when the taxi pulled up outside Miller and Carter, Muswell Hill - my first thought "l'm not dressed!" I need not have worried, although the outside looks imposing, due to it being an old church conversion. Inside was bright light and clean, even with the dark wood beams, tables and furniture, I still got the feeling of space and light. It seemed fairly busy - they do takeaway as well - there was the gentle rumble of diner voices, mainly coming from upstairs but the noise was subtle, I am sure due to the cavernous nature of the building. We were seated fairly quickly. Taken to a very nice table near the back with lovely large firm chairs with arms and a low back - I have osteoarthritis in both knees so need a firm seat with arms and this was perfect.

Our server came fairly quickly to see to our drinks order and another server came and took our meal order. There is a quite extensive menu including burgers, and I liked how there were suggestions on how best to have your steak. But of course you can have it anyway you want. My son had the Canadian 16oz steak, rare - he said it wasn't as good as he had hoped. He also had ribs on the side - no comment there, the bones were cleaned, so you decide. He also had a side order of the Lobster tail, undecided as we all thought they were a little over done and dry. Hard to extricate from the shell (we all had lobster tail, mine came with the steak). My steak melted (medium well) in my mouth, it was delicious with the bernaise sauce. The onion loaf was lovely. Just the right amount. I also had prawns and scallops in garlic and herb butter.... deeelicious! Triple cooked fries just right, greens to share - just the right amount of crunch. My husband had his 16oz steak well done - clean plate! But he didn't like his peppercorn sauce. We did have to wait a little while longer than I would have expected between the "wedge" arriving (a half of lettuce with your choice of dressing) and our main course which was also missing one of the sides! Overall...this was indeed waaay better than a chicken and chips takeaway. My compliments to the chef. Why didn't I give 5 stars? There was no disabled /wheelchair access that I could see at the front. And I think the wedge of tomato that came with the steak should have been grilled as well as the lemon. I wish I'd had time for a dessert because they looked great...maybe next time😊 Also I forgot to take some food snaps, that's what a good steak does to you.

Wedding Anniversary visit on 28th July 2022. Great service! From entry to departure. We were served by Anca. She provided us with friendly and attentive service. The starters were good. My husbands king prawns in garlic butter disappeared in a flash. I had the pork bao bun, only odd thing about this dish the pork was hot and crispy but the fruit garnish was stone cold, a bit weird! The steaks we received were just as ordered. One medium well 10oz sirloin and one well done 20oz sirloin on the bone. Excellent. The onion loaf was tasty and not over cooked and the vegetables had a great bite, not too much sauce. We shared new potatoes and triple fried chips. Of course I had to go for dessert this time. The Chef's choice Raspberry meringue filled with strawberries, mango and fresh cream with a mango coulis - which should have been tart, not sweet - it was presented so nicely that I had no problem demolishing the lot! Most definitely 5 stars this...

Booked a table here on the train from Royston to Ally Pally for 17:45. We arrived early around 17:15 and were seated immediately. (it's about a 20-30 minute walk from Alexandra Palace Station)

To start off with, the decor of this place is amazing! It's an old church, and you can see all the old architecture when you look up.

So, the menu is pretty easy to understand, you basically pick a stake, how you want it cooked, what topping you want on your wedge, and a side. You've also got plenty of other sides, starters, sauces etc to choose from. Their drinks menu is also quite vast, ranging from cocktails to wines, to beers as well as alcohol free / low alcohol versions too.

I went for the 30-day, 12oz Serloin cooked medium, seasoned fries, beef shin and the dripping sauce. My wedge was coated in a bacon and mustard drizzle. The other half went for the 50-day, 8oz Ribeye cooked medium rare with seasoned fries and berniaise sauce. Her wedge was coated in a parmesan drizzle.

For sides we had sautéed greens, mac and cheese and button mushrooms.

We did get a look from our incredible waiter Diogo, I think he thought our eyes were bigger than our bellies, but we managed to eat 95% of our food, only leaving a small amount of sautéed greens and small bits of our wedges.

For pudding we opted for a coffee each, given that we had just absolutely stuffed ourselves with out mains and sides.

Overall, we had absolutely zero complaints about the food, drink, atmosphere and service it was all top notch, we were taken care of by Diogo very well and none of the staff were pushy (as in asking if you wanted more drinks all the time) Everything was cooked to absolute perfection!

Once again, we'd like to thank the staff at Miller & Carter for making us feel welcome and taking good care of us throughout, especially Diogo.

We'll definitely be returning when in...

This is a disappointing reviw to recommend that all fellow Deliveroo, uber eats and just eats customers to NEVER order from Miller and Carter, particularly the MUSWELL hill branch. It’s a disaster in every level. As big Deliveroo customers ordering daily from them, on the several occasions we ordered from Miller and Carter, the wait time is totally unreasonable (1+ hours and never less, up to 1.5 hours wait time), and this time they missed off half the order (which cost £116 for home delivery for whole family), and what they did deliver (very late), was not only missing key parts of the order amounting to £50 of missing food, they packed a giant single paper bag with too much weight (food) which collapsed at the door, and fell all over the floor. Damaging the items. Miller and carter said to take it up with Deliveroo and refused to offer refund, as well as Deliveroo saying “not prepared to refund”. The lesson is…don’t ever order your food at this restaurant in a delivery app (to be honest they’re extremely slow to deliver in the restaurant too, and the waiters are useless), and don’t ever spend large amounts on delivery apps because I notice the more you spend, the less likely they are to give a rebate if there’s an issue. Legally Deliveroo were in breach of their customer contact while the restaurant, mess up everything, shame as it’s good meat but the service lets everyone down. That restaurant...
