I usually buy bread at Gails round the corner but as I'd missed all their bread I thought I'd try this place. Now, £2.50 for a baguette is a lot so I expected it to be something good. I was so wrong. It was thin and hard and sadly it was Sourdough NOT French bread. I like bread and I hate this 'Undead Frankenstein' bread. I'm not a troll but I'm disappointed. I'm convinced the Sourdough thing is just popular as you don't actually have to make any new dough - you just 'feed' the existing goop in the fridge and it magically grows more of itself. I had to try to forget about it while eating the sandwich but I’m not sure if I will ever be back it’s...

But as some others pointed out, unfortunately, the not ideal hygiene standards mean I rarely buy my bread here. Understand that they don't want to use disposable gloves but I am sure there would be other solutions. I have seen an increased use of tongues for touching small breads but not the large loaves. I know staff should wash hands every 20 minutes but the cloths and towels they use to dry their hands look so filthy...
