Firstly I do not normally leave reviews until I have experienced a service/product for at least a month. Its now been nearly two months since I started classes at Dragonfly. This is going to be a long review, but there is just so many positive things to say. So a bit of history, I have always loved Yoga but I practiced at home with the help of You Tube and online classes. I have to say there is something really special about doing yoga in person with a qualified teacher. I tried a few classes here until I found the right one for me. Yin and Yang classes are my personal favourite because I am 'on the go' all week and this just settles my mind, body and spirit. All the teachers are wonderful. I have experienced Leonora Lihou, Giovina Guerra. They both have a very unique and personal flow to their classes. Easy to understand and follow. Giovina gave me some really good tips to achieve a headstand in a safe way! and Leonora is just bursting with a great personality and joy! I often leave her classes laughing! Andrea Castillo has a very calming nature and explains the moves in great detail. I can now confidently practice at home in between sessions knowing that I am aligning my body correctly. The staff here are amazing, so friendly and after a hectic week seeing friendly faces really lifts me. The coffee is amazing (best I have ever had). Its so spacious, I recently bought my sisters here just for a coffee. They are both still nervous about going out (Covid related) but because there is space in between tables they absolutely loved it. The only one thing I would mention is that I wish they offered Yoga Teacher Training here. I am looking to become a yoga teacher and would love to do it here. I have booked an introduction to Yoga teacher training elsewhere but if Dragonfly offered the full course I would definitely book. Sorry for the long review but you will not be disappointed!...
Read moreThese studios are excellent and well worth a visit and trial. It was always a conundrum to me that the people who actually do yoga are the superfit and flexible, they're not the ones who REALLY need to! It is People like me who NEED to do yoga: stiff, achy and stressed to the max Being fed up with poor sleep and not being able to touch my toes anymore, I finally decided to do some, and this place is a great place to start, as well as to practice for those more experienced. They have classes at all levels, and the teachers I had were all great in different ways. The App worked well for me. If you are thinking about it, I would say Get the app on Android or Apple purchase an introductory pass, which is 40 quid for unlimited 20 days of access to all classes If you havent done much or are new, you should start with the Hatha flow classes but also try vinyasa as well ( these are more challenging One improvement I suggest is that the beginner introductory classes be included in the pass ( these are separate and only 5 pounds each, but honestly, the intro pass is better). Chair yoga and yoga for pain are also included in the pass. Teachers: (I hope they dont mind the shout-outs Lisa Muten is a great teacher to start, and progress has amazingly calm energy, and the class is both gentle and challenging. Yoga to the Max: Maxine is also great for beginners and advanced students. She is technically rigorous but in a good way. After taking her class, I had my first uninterrupted night's sleep in forever!! There are others, but this review is getting too long. You should try it for yourself. I also took pilates classes.
I have to stop for a while, but I will be back. They have other passes available after the intro pass. I think their prices are very reasonable value for...
Read moreI've been coming to Dragonfly for the last 6 months and it's a real community gem.
I have the unlimited pass and it's excellent value, not to mention so easy to book or change classes as needed. The staff are so friendly and welcoming which makes it a lovely atmosphere.
I've tried lots of different classes and teachers, all of which are excellent. Lots of different styles and paces, and I like that there are also Pilates classes mixed in with the yoga so there are lots of opportunities to fit movement of different kinds into your week.
There are a good range of different times for the classes to fit all kinds of different schedules.
I particularly like the Sunday afternoon Yin class with Laura which is the perfect end to the weekend for me and so calming and relaxing.
Special mention also to Giovina - her classes are my favourite especially Monday morning Ashtanga. She is a wonderful warm teacher who challenges you but also holds lots of space for modifications as needed.
If you are a seasoned yogi looking for a challenge or a brand new beginner wanting to try yoga, Dragonfly has something for you which is quite impressive if you...
