A few weeks ago I saw an ad on spareroom of a one bedroom flat. I contacted the owner who answered me if I wanted to see the flat, I said yes and he gave me an appointment for the next day, the appointment was not directly in the flat but in the agency, when I arrived with my boyfriend in agency a young lady welcomed us and then there was a guy who was the one I had talked to on spareroom, he didn't even say hello to us and continued to type on the computer, after about 5 minutes he asked us who we were (he was the one who had me given the appointment at that time) I explained to him that we had talked on spareroom and that we had to see the flat. He didn't even know what flat we were talking about and I had to show him the screenshot and tell him to check the spareroom chat to get back to the flat. He started asking us a series of personal questions such as if we took benefits, how much we earned per month (I know that agencies need references but these questions should not be asked before showing the flat to the people concerned) and even what nationality we were like this was important to rent a flat. After this he goes to open the spareroom chat because he still didn't understand which flat we were talking about, and once he saw it he told us that there was an error in the price and that he could offer us a cheaper studio without even telling us the real price of the flat. , after two or 3 weeks the spareroom add is still there and the price has not been changed. I am really annoyed because it made us waste our time to go to that agency and then ask many useless personal questions since the flat apparently does not exist or he did not want to give it to us because he took us for beggars but we already have a flat we were looking for just one a little bit bigger, we both work and so I don't understand this treatment, with us they were not polite and...
Read moreThis is my first time renting a property as a foreign student and I was anxious about it due to previous experience with another Estate agents messing me around, always check google reviews!
I inquired a beautiful property I found on Zoopla, and not long after I contacted Josh to arrange a viewing. We exchanged emails and the day after, the viewing was booked. We spoke a while about why I want to move, what i'm looking for in a property and how soon I would be ready to move.
On the day of viewing the property I was delighted to be greeted by a warm, friendly face. Josh showed me around, chatting away about the property and what it has to offer me. I already felt confident knowing the property was perfectly presented just like the pictures! So right away I told Josh I would be very interested. I felt reassured after hearing about the landlord accepting to rent this property to a fair price.
The next day Josh sent me forms to complete. He kept me in the loop throughout the entire process, gave me the nudges we needed to ensure I would fill the forms and get all the details in smooth timing to ensure my placement was help for the property. I cannot thank him enough for all his help, always a pleasure to talk to and so understanding and helpful. He even ordered a new bed which was very comfortable.
I will be recommending to my friends and family, so they will receive the help and guidance from the lovely Josh! I couldn't be happier with...
Read moreThis agency pressures people to give 5 star reviews on Google, which I did because I was dependent on the agency to fix problems with my house. Do not trust the high reviews.
Honest review: Pros: My rent was very reasonable for a studio flat in Islington. The agency did fix some issues in a timely way.
Cons: When I moved in, the agent agreed to do some furnishing of the apartment. They did not do this before I moved in, so I had no bed for almost a week. flat was not cleaned when I moved in. The blinds in the flat were broken when I moved in. This took weeks to resolve. The flat has had significant water damage for a month, and nothing has been done about it. I moved in during January and the house had no heaters or radiators. I had to buy one and get it reimbursed. no rent concession or other remedy was offered for not getting the flat ready as mentioned earlier, I felt pressured to give a good review because I was dependent on the agency to fix problems.
I would give a 2 star review, but the review score is so overinflated. Would recommend people avoid working...
