I have been a long-standing client of this salon, and I believe that regular customers should receive appropriate treatment from the staff. However, my recent experience with Maria was quite disappointing. I selected her for root tint coloring for the first time, and while I did not notice any flaws in the hair coloring itself, the overall experience was less than satisfactory. As is my custom, I requested a toner at the end of the root coloring process. Unfortunately, the assistant who washed my hair mistakenly applied the toner to my scalp instead of the ends, due to a lack of proper guidance from Maria. After a few minutes, I began to feel a burning sensation on my scalp and in my eyes. In distress, I had to stop the assistant and ask her to rinse out the toner, as the discomfort was unbearable. She attempted to alleviate the situation by washing my scalp with cold water, but the burning sensation persisted. Maria later apologized for not instructing the assistant correctly regarding the application. Although I was quite uncomfortable, I accepted her apology; however, I had to decline the usual shampooing and massage, which I typically enjoy, due to the pain I was experiencing. It is understandable that applying toner to the scalp after a root tint would lead to a burning sensation. Additionally, the toner prepared by Maria was excessively strong, causing its odor to disturb other clients in the washing area, suggesting that she may have used too much peroxide. I believed it would be inappropriate for Maria to request full payment given the considerable stress and dissatisfaction I endured, particularly since she personally assessed my scalp and noted my reaction. However, after I raised my concerns, Maria only offered a 10% discount, despite my repeated explanations that her mistake caused me significant distress. Her sole reply was that "I spent my time," seemingly trivializing the gravity of the situation. Had I not insisted on the immediate removal of the toner, both my hair and skin could have sustained serious harm. Even after five hours, the burning sensation continued, and the toner has lightened my root tint, which was not the desired outcome. It is rather unusual that Maria has confirmed that peroxide is not a type of bleach, which may lead to a lack of trust in the employees...
Read moreI wasn’t going to write this, but the more I live with this haircut, the more upsetting it becomes, especially knowing it’ll take months to fix (I’ve already had to spend £250 on extensions… yes, it was that bad).
I came into the salon with a chic, healthy bob that I really loved. All I wanted was a small trim to clean up the ends. I even brought reference photos to make it crystal clear.
Instead, I left with a haircut that looks nothing short of butchered.
Anika — a “junior” stylist with seven years of experience — completely shredded my hair. It’s now thin, wispy, and uneven by inches at the front. The back is just as bad. When the receptionist saw it, she actually said, “I can’t defend this.” That says it all.
A senior stylist assessed it afterward and barely touched it , clearly aware there wasn’t much that could be done.
They didn’t offer a refund until I asked for one (which, frankly, given how bad my hair looked, should have been offered immediately). The initial response felt more like damage control than genuine accountability.
This wasn’t a small miscommunication or an off day. It was gross negligence. I know that may sound dramatic, but I’ve never had thin hair in my life and now that’s exactly how it looks and feels. I have noticeable gaps, split ends, and someone even asked me if I’d cut it myself.
And yes, I know what you’re probably thinking: “But they have so many great reviews , this person must be overly picky.” I thought the same. I did the research. That’s why I’m so shocked, especially considering their senior stylists charge £300.
To be fair, the team did book me in with a senior stylist (not that it changed anything), and they didn’t argue when I asked for a refund. But still, my hair is ruined, and it’s unacceptable for a salon with this kind of “reputation.”

I've never in all my life had such an incredible expierence at a hair salon. From start to finish, the entire process exceeded all of my wildest dreams.
I was lucky enough to book in with Darijo, and right from our very first conversation, I knew I was in the BEST hands! I walked in with big ambitions, wanting to transform my virgin (extremly thick and dark) brunette hair to a beachy blonde in just one day. Because I have SO much hair, I knew that this was an enormous task, but what I didn't anticipate, was just how much of a truly enjoyable process it would be. Darijos passion for hair shone through the entire day. His energy and incredible talent to transform hair was so inspiring to be around, that despite being a nine hour process (I told you I have a lot of hair) time just flew by. I was so well looked after by all the staff there, with other stylists also coming over at different parts of the day all equally as excited as myself to see the end results..
And my lord did the end result take my breath away. I'm writing this 24 hours later and I'm still in shock and awe at Darijos work. I've never seen such a beautiful head of blonde hair... and it's somehow on my shoulders?! I feel so lucky to have been able to have sat in the presence of such talented and kind artists, and I can not wait to be able to be back in the salon again... I mean, there's no possible way I'd ever go anywhere else again.
You have to experience it for yourself, they're too good not to share. Book, book, book!
Thank you so very much Darijo and all of the Gielly Green team. Can't wait to see you again soon x
