DO NOT GO HERE IF YOUāRE SERIOUS ABOUT IMPROVING YOUR GAME.
If a company offers a service of a putting fitting, what would be the minimum level of service you would expect as a customer? That is what I would ask golfonline following my experience.
There is no part of this service that is a fitting. After booking an appointment, I went in, explained roughly what Iām looking for but said I donāt know whatās best for me 34ā or 35ā. I also donāt like big mallet putters.
One of the store managers points out a big mallet putter, in both 34 and 35 and says either one should be ok, without even looking at how Iām putting. So I putt a few times while he walks off for 5 minutes, before he brings me a newer model saying this should be the one itās in your price range. Clearly having not listened at all I explained again I didnāt want a big mallet putter. At NO point was I measured, nothing about whether toe hang would suit my stroke whether I arc or stroke straight, no analysis of face at impact literally nothing beyond what you would expect going to sports direct going on the artificial green and trying putters for yourself, itās that basic. I asked if there was any fitting element to this and the store manager replied āno, itās not like irons with angles putting is different for everyoneāā¦Yep thanks for stating the obvious which is why people get a fitting to suit their individual abilities.
I asked to try a certain putter and was left just putting for 10 minutes with no help whatsoever. I looked around and he had disappeared to the back room so I walked out just in disbelief that I had come across London for this āserviceā that I had to book an appointment for. Genuinely if you actually care about getting a club fitted to you that will improve your game DO NOT GO HERE. Iām sure itās a fine company for ordering clubs online at decent prices but in terms of technical experience and service...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBooked a fitting session with Gary as suggested by the golf pro that was helping me find a swing that worked with my age! The whole experience was fantastic. They not only have the ideal collection of clubs in all price points to try, but the technology and detailed data that they get, even for a high handicap person as myself is quite amazing. Gary narrowed things down and in the end my 12 year old clubs were replaced with modern day technologically advanced ones, the result was that for a 7 iron, my clubs were 120 yards carry, swing speed was slow but ok for my age. With the new irons I hit five consecutive shots around 160 carry and a couple out of the āmiddle of the batā of 172! I was probably more warmed up but most of it was the clubs. The computer tracking showed me exactly what was going on. Driver went from 182 carry to 232 carry, a lot of work to do on my āreleaseā but not a single destructive shot versus my old 9.5 degree Calloway on this new 10.5 modern club. I went into the session open minded on brands so have not shared what I bought as that way, like me you get to hit clubs with no preconceived ideas. Gary was careful to only show me products that were within my budget so that removed a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSince I live in Kenya I couldn't get my order delivered to my doorstep. A friend of mine who is currently in the UK agreed to bring me the clubs and to let me use his UK address. According to Golf Online my order was to be delivered between 3 - 5 working days. Imagine how impressed I was when I placed my order on Monday and got it delivered barely 24 hours later! Furthermore from the moment my clubs were dispatched until they were delivered I received constant updates by email - I even know who the driver was who made the delivery! (Thanks and be blessed Tony;-)) If I have the opportunity to place another order I have found my online shop and I will recommend it to anybody who needs a reliable address. Thanks a lot, GolfOnline...
