What a wonderful gem to be found in the borough of Bexley! Lesnes Abbey Woods boasts several entrance points. All of which are stunning, intriguing, and inviting. My favourite entrance point is off New Road, closest to the ruins. Upon entry, you are given an immediate sense of peace and the willingness to explore. I am a newcomer to this park and realise there is a lot more to explore. Part of the area is a well manicured haven with a café and ruins of a Abbey that once stood long ago. As this is a raised location, it is possible to see the London skyline. The rest of the area is woodland, with good paths (if hiking by foot). I have had the pleasure of enjoying the stroller friendly portion of Lesnes Abbey Wood as I have a little one but will be heading up to the wooded areas when he is a little older with my wife.
