I never write bad reviews, but I feel the need to share this so that others know how they’ll be treated here.
I dropped my drink on the floor by accident, and staff in question looked very annoyed and proceeded to hand me the big blue roll, then walked away so that I would clean it myself. I had just finished paying as well and was walking out of the store with my partner. It was quite disappointing and a bit embarrassing, as I am sure accidents happen all the time. I also apologised for the mistake as I am sure it is frustrating, but all the staff were standing around doing nothing anyways and did not look busy in the slightest.
After cleaning up the spilt drink, I was looking around with a bunch of dirty tissue trying to see if there were any bins. There was even someone walking around with a bin and mop (probably due to the store being closed soon and doing closing duties), and when my partner asked for help, they looked away and ignored us. Definitely will not be coming back to this store again, as this is how staff treat...
Read moreVery disappointed. Yesterday 23rd December bought my christmas desserts at this store. On checking the first dessert it had a useby date of 06 Jan, so did not check the rest assuming would all have useby date at least until 25 Dec. Later that day on checking dates one dessert use by date was 24 Dec. This morning 7am drove to M&S to take it back but was told as I bought day before useby, could not return. I had to end up buying a further dessert, shelf life 29 Dec. I do not expect them to put back my return on shelf but can only guess at the amount of damaged goods there are at the back of the shop that will...

I say almost because fresh bread products feel like unwanted refugees now moved from a safe established position at the rear of the store to a scrappy, precarious perch in the 'cafe' at the front (in the former lobby?).
It doesn't look good at 6.30pm, but by then it probably doesn't matter. That's where the problem with M&S in 2019 lies, I think.
The Lemon Meringue Pie? Meringue was flat, flavour lacking. Blackcurrant Sundaes? It had blackcurrant in it, but (here it comes) flavour lacking, groan.
It almost does things right (visually anyway) , then doesn't bother with the finer details it used to excel...
