Review for M&S, 258 Edgware RdLondon W2 1DU

I visited the store to purchase snacks and had an unacceptable experience of racial profiling. When I asked an employee named Usman where the tortilla chips were located, he inexplicably informed me that I was banned from the store. Initially, I thought he was joking, but he escalated the situation by calling over his colleague Shimul, who appeared equally confused.

Usman claimed that there were photos of me “upstairs” and that I had been banned due to being stopped by him three times—an assertion that is completely false, as I work next door and have never been stopped by him or anyone else. Without my consent, Usman took my photograph multiple times, which is a clear violation of my privacy. When I asked him to validate his claims and confirm he wasn’t mistaking me for someone else, he suggested I return on Saturday to speak with a security guard who allegedly stopped me. This made it even clearer that he wasn't sure at all.

To make matters worse, Usman covered his name tag after he noticed me checking, further obscuring accountability, and involved the store manager in an attempt to justify his actions. He then offered to exchange personal phone numbers, which felt entirely inappropriate under the circumstances.

This entire incident was not only deeply humiliating but also discriminatory. Being harassed and profiled in this manner is unacceptable. I have raised a formal complaint and demand that my photograph is deleted immediately. I also expect a formal apology from the store.

M&S must address this behavior, provide staff with appropriate training, and ensure no one else experiences...

Marks and Spencer get 4 stars from me as it is a decent shop, with excellent staff I would add though my favourite shop on the Edgware Road which gets 5 stars is Waitrose. 2 really good shops though on the same road for some excellent shopping. Easy access and wheelchair access for people with disabilities They are a very Covid aware shop and you must wear a face mask in the shop , they have security on the door. Lots of space so a nice shopping environment

Very central location near "Paddington Station". Very good selection, many product are their own "M & S" Brand. I went to the food store and not the other departments. The prices are a bit higher than "Tesco", but the quality is sometimes better, very neat and clean, good service, Bring your own plastic bag if possible (Recycle!), The best option of payment is with your phone, I DON'T know if cash is a possibility here, I Didn't try or ask.

Another old favourite of mine is the M&S Food hall in this Edgware road department store. This is also the HQ of M&S. I specifically went into the shop to search for some Black Farmer products. I don't know if they had all sold out by the time that I had got there. But unfortunately there was nothing to be seen by the time I looked for the Black Farmer on the shelves.
