If you need to buy fruit and veg in large quantities this is the place to go. In general it seems to be fresher and of a higher quality than what you will tend to find on the high street - it lasts longer at home and much of it is larger than you normally see.
Unlike Smithfield and Billingsgate, New Spitalfields does not cater for retail buyers, but you do not need to be a trade customer to buy fruit and veg here. I went 1st time.
Plenty of fruit/veg wholesalers there, i went for my fav indian kesar mangoes. I found some in a large box size and bought at a good price.
The place is busy at around 5am but its open to traders and public, if you buy more you get higher discount, be careful of the hundreds of forklifts buzzing around, walkways are clearly printed on floor.
Car park is big but i parked in traders bays next to the wharehouse as easier to load, once you've bought you can get them to load ont forklift for you or just look for a hand pushed trailer and diy as its quicker.
You pay £2 car park fee, it only has 1 pay booth, needs more but there is an app you can use to ay if you are a regular visitor.
You can take your time and visit many stalls or just locate the stuff you want a get price, however if you take to long to browse teh goods will be sold so take that into account. Lots of standard stuff as well as...
