If you need to buy fruit and veg in large quantities this is the place to go. In general it seems to be fresher and of a higher quality than what you will tend to find on the high street - it lasts longer at home and much of it is larger than you normally see. Unlike Smithfield and Billingsgate, New Spitalfields does not cater for retail buyers, but you do not need to be a trade customer to buy fruit and veg here. Whilst some stallholders sell produce by the palette, many of them sell it by the box or sack, so if you are happy buying 70 apples or 90 lemons you'll be OK. It is a very busy commercial market shifting industrial quantities of produce. There are scores of forklift trucks constantly moving around inside the market so you need to be alert to the dangers they pose, stick to the clearly marked walkways, look carefully at every junction and ideally wear hi-viz clothing. If driving to the market be aware that there can be a traffic jam outside around midnight as shop-owners queue up at the traffic lights to enter the site and park on the pavement and median divider. If you visit closer to closing time things are far less frantic.

This is the best fresh farm whole sale market where you can find a wide verity of fruits and vegetables in Bulk quantities (Bulk means you can only buy in cartons. If your family is big and you have good storage space then you can buy. A massive paid carpark(first 15 min is free). The problem is this market opens at 2:00am for whole sellers and for general public timings are from 4:00- 6:00. I would definitely recommend. I could not take good pictures cos market was almost closing when I reach around 6:00

Nice experience - Parking is £2. There are several shops. Each one does have a slightly different price. Some shops you need a minimum card payment better to take cash with you. Watch out for the forklift as the driver is moving incredibly fast so you need to be constantly vigilant. This is not a place for kids at all. The produce is very fresh as well.

Easy to get to for me, hours are between 12am and 9am only.

I went 1st time.

Plenty of fruit/veg wholesalers there, i went for my fav indian kesar mangoes. I found some in a large box size and bought at a good price.

The place is busy at around 5am but its open to traders and public, if you buy more you get higher discount, be careful of the hundreds of forklifts buzzing around, walkways are clearly printed on floor.

Car park is big but i parked in traders bays next to the wharehouse as easier to load, once you've bought you can get them to load ont forklift for you or just look for a hand pushed trailer and diy as its quicker.

You pay £2 car park fee, it only has 1 pay booth, needs more but there is an app you can use to ay if you are a regular visitor.

You can take your time and visit many stalls or just locate the stuff you want a get price, however if you take to long to browse teh goods will be sold so take that into account. Lots of standard stuff as well as...

Spitelfield Market is based in East London, closest underground station is Leyton. It's biggest FRUIT & VEGETABLE wholesale market in London. The 2nd number is Western International Market (fruit & veg) based in Southall. Almost all Shopkeepers in London & surroundings, Restaurants, Stores, Stalls in various high street buying as wholesale. That market open at night from midnight to mornings by time. Some stands open from 10pm at night but all stand holder are not allowed to sale there stuff before midnight. After 12am they can start up to 8am most shop but some can sale until 10am. It's amazing market. Children are not allowed. Must be worn high vis in side the market for visibility to others specially for folk lifter drivers. Very cheap but just for wholesale rather than retail. Frozen market is also inside as wholesale for fish, poultry etc,m as well as fresh flowers. I love it & you'll be...
