Did you know there are 50 Paddington Bear statues in London? Or that the person who invented the stuffed toy called later Paddington Bear was in fact Jeremy Clarkson's mum? I was really looking forward to seeing this statue and when I finally got a chance I was stunned. I must say, I found it very disappointing that this lovely creature, my favourite childhood character, does not have eyes... He looks rather sad and lonely, totally not as I would have imagined this little, brave and adventure-seeking bear with a great heart, so loved by many! Perhaps he was captured by the artist just at the moment of arrival from Peru to England, after an earthquake that destroyed his home, but still... I think he should have eyes.

If you are at the station it is worth your while to search this quintessentially British character out. Based on a popular children's book which was made into a cartoon and later a number of films this bear has entered the culture of the nation, especially after our late monarch's support. The bronze is polished by countless hands touching it which reflects the national affection for this little visitor from deepest Peru

Paddington bear is yet another example of clever marketing. It appeals to small kids, and hence it works wonders - despite being painted in a hideous blue colour when we went. But my grandson willingly posed for photographs with Mr P Bear! One would have thought the local authorities would place the famous statue in a more prominent place. You kind of stumpble on to it, almost when you are about give up and leave

Fun to see paddington statue at platform 1 but unfortunately 2 ang mos ladies were using it as place to seat, and when a family and i requested potelity if we could borrow paddington bear for a while so we could take photos they refused to budge and one even mentioned to her friend - "dont care about them". 5 stars for paddington, but 1 star for toursim and unfriendliness :/ had to come back again for pictures

The Paddington Bear statue in London is a charming tribute to the iconic children's book character. Seeing the statue brought back fond memories of childhood and the joy of reading Michael Bond's books. It's a must-visit attraction for anyone who loves Paddington Bear and his timeless stories.
