This was the worst Italian Food I have ever tasted, the most dreadful service, and the atmosphere was pure chaos. We were seated in the basement in an alcove where all the sounds gravitated to. We could not hear ourselves think. We sat there for 15 minutes until I had to get up and talk to someone and asked for a menu to look at while the waitstaff dealt with what they were dealing with. Okay, it was busy but in my world, donāt have the seats open if you cannot meet the expectations of your clients. Anyhow, menus were delivered and no one came to take drinks until I saw the Manager and gave him a look, then we were served. We ordered 2 pizzas and Gnocchi with basil tomato sauce along with the house red (a glass). We ordered a Bruschetta starter to share. Well, the drinks can in 5 and then three small plates for the starter. I thought we were on our way. The wine I tasted and it was dreadful. It was a small glass full to the brim. That was a sign right there that I was in for a disappointing meal. Then all the food arrived at once, including the Bruschetta. The bruschetta had too much tomato on the two small stale pieces of bread. It was difficult to eat. The pizzas had not been cut so they were one huge piece , undercooked. Mine was Prosciutto and Mushroom. I received very little mushroom and the Prosciutto was English ham ā¦. No way it was prosciuttoā¦. He should be held up for false advertising quite frankly. The gnocchi we got was the three cheese gnocchi so that had to be returned only to be replaced by the worst basil and tomato sauce version you could ever imagine. The gnocchi were overcooked and the sauce flooded to bowl plate. The sauce was as if they opened a can of tomato paste and added some water and a few basil leaves. The pizzas were undercooked so cutting them was very difficult. And then the wonderful moment to top everything off- there was a hair in my pizza. Take a look at the picture. The hair is on the side of the plate after I moved it there. Look, we paid our bill and I said the waitstaff that they should tell the chef to wear a hairnet and I pointed to the hair. I paid the gratuity. I did all of this hoping the manager would listen to me and change things but when I talked to him outside about the dreadful meal I got the ā I have been open for many years and no one has complained like this. Look at my restaurant, it is full and everyone is enjoying their mealā. I was not about to argue - but to those thinking of going to Bizzaro, the name speaks for itself. Upon entry you will enter the bizarre world of Italian Cuisine done wrong and if you come out thinking you have had a good meal then you should play the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was in Paddington and had 1hr to spare (I couldnāt take the train because it was on peak and my ticket was off peak). I searched must go restaurants near me and this one was the one to show up first so we decided to go there. I have to say the name āBizarroā was a bit hard to find, but itās understandable. When we got there we thought we would be waiting for a while because it seemed packed, but we were told to go downstairs and we were sat down in a quiet section. We got cheesy garlic bread as a starter and OMG there was so much taste and so stringy it was lovely. I ordered the prosciutto and funghi pizza and the person I was with got the carbonara, and both were amazing, the pizza I could taste how fresh it was, the tomato sauce was definitely fresh and although I couldnāt see any herbs there was definitely herbs, it tasted fresh and really nice, the carbonara was extremely creamy and full of taste, the person I was with said that they never had a carbonara as good as that one. During the all time we were there the staff was amazing, the lady that served us was extremely friendly with everyone. Then we wanted dessert mostly to try because I was soooo full I couldnāt eat more to be honest, but we got a tiramisu and the cheesecake which I think from what I understand it can change, I was lucky enough to get the red fruits, because I love my red fruits, not going to lie I love my tiramisu tasting a little bit like coffee but it was still very nice, it was basically melting in our mouths and the cheesecake was not what I was expecting but it had an amazing flavour. Service again was extraordinary and lovely. I do definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone that wants to eat good. For both of us, 1 starter, 2 mains 2 desserts and 2 drinks it came to Ā£50. They do add a service fee which I donāt like it but I was happy enough to pay for it. The way I see it is that if I didnāt go here, I would have gone to Nandos and would of paid more or less the same for 2 mains...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had lunch many years ago at Bizzarro with some friends and kept a good memory of the place. So last night, staying near by at the Hilton, i decided to have dinner there. i walked in at 21:00 with no reservation, the place was quite full of what appeared a mixture of local and tourist, and got a table straight away. The welcome and service were typical old fashion Italian, which i like, it remind me the days i used to live in Sicilia. The place had a good vibe, happy, reasonable noise level, and it didn't feel awkward to be here on my own, always positive. i order a bottle of Nero D'Avola from Sicilia, a cepage that i particularly enjoy and at 40 pounds it was good value for quality. i started with some fresh asparagus, special of the day, nicely cooked, a little fresh lemon could have added some Mediterranean flavor, and the presentation didn't really need a slice of orange and the few leaves of lettuce, by itself it would have been just fine; but overall a good starter. i followed with some fettuccine with prosciutto and mushroom in a cream sauce, some kind of Alfredo i guess. Fettucine of a low quality, slightly over cooked, with a rather flavorless sauce, very average dish. i continued with a vitello parmigiana and spaghetti as a side, both a disappointment. The veal was chewy, over cooked, egg plants under cooked and flavorless same with the tomato sauce. the spaghetti of low quality, cooked al dente, but reminded me more of glass noodles by their consistency than durum wheat Italian pasta, again tomato sauce flavorless. i finished with a small plate of cheese, nothing worth to mention and a not very Italian mediocre tiramisu. if your food expectation is not to high and your knowledge of Italian cuisine is low, then you will be ok and they do have a decent wine list, the last time we had a very good...
