This review is strictly for dinner, not as a pub.

It's an absolutely gorgeous dining setting in the library room.

Our visit politely and pleasantly staffed by people that must have been positively deathly afraid of we two Americans.

I can only explain it thus, given the paucity of visits to our table. On the scant few visits to our table, they seemed perfectly nice.

But requests for glasses of water were seemingly heard but never delivered. Never once did anyone check in after anything was delivered to the table to inquire how it was. A desire for a second round of beverages went unfulfilled and unrecognized.

Most egregiously however, while it's custom to tell diners the amount of time they have, the server had the incredible genius of summarily informing us that we instead had 15 fewer minutes than our original booking stated.

It was genius, you see, because of course, there were only 10 minutes left in our time when we were so informed.

Any interest in a dessert course or post-meal cordial was immediately ruled out--it might well have been another 15-20 minutes before another person dared venture to our table again, and who knows how long to deliver the bill?

I was frankly insulted and offended by such utter, rank cowardice by the wait staff. They simply should have turned us away if we so frightened them.

It is not my norm to be critical in writing a review. Indeed, it's extremely out of character. But the service was, in a word, asinine.

The food was serviceable, but certainly even if it was good quality, one apparently ought not dine here.

This is not an experience that I would ever care to repeat.

But neither is it one I would wish on anyone else.

And that’s why I wrote it this past half hour.

I assume that as a pub, it's likely a...

The Victoria in Paddington offers the complete package for a memorable pub experience, delicious food, warm service, and an enchanting ambiance that’s worth savoring.

Food: The menu is an absolute treat. The shepherd’s pie was exceptional, rich, savory, and perfectly comforting. If only the portion were larger because I could have easily gone for seconds! The meat pies were equally delightful, with flaky pastry and hearty fillings. We also tried the Sunday roast, which was a star in its own right. The tender meat, golden roast potatoes, and vibrant vegetables all came together with a rich gravy for a meal that hit all the right notes.

Drinks: A good pub isn’t complete without excellent drinks, and The Victoria delivers. The ciders and beers we had were top-notch—refreshing and perfectly paired with the hearty meals. Whether you’re a fan of classic ales or a crisp cider, you’ll find something to enjoy here.

Service: The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive. Their genuine warmth makes you feel right at home, whether it’s your first visit or your tenth.

Atmosphere: The ambiance is one of the pub’s standout features. The decor is beautiful, with a perfect mix of traditional and cozy charm. From the beautifully detailed ground floor to the equally stunning upper floors, this pub is a visual delight that makes you want to explore every corner.

Whether you’re visiting for a Sunday roast, a hearty shepherd’s pie, or just a relaxing drink, The Victoria in Paddington is an absolute must-visit. With its exceptional food, drinks, and atmosphere, it’s a place you’ll...

Firstly, I have to mention that the service we received was top-notch. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and friendly staff members. They were attentive, knowledgeable, and always ready to assist with any queries we had. It truly made us feel valued as customers.

Now, let's talk about the ambience. Wow! The moment we stepped inside, we were blown away by the incredible atmosphere. The decor was tastefully done, creating a cozy and inviting environment. It was the perfect place to unwind and enjoy a great meal with friends.

Lastly, I want to give a special shoutout to Megha, who went above and beyond to make our dining experience memorable. She was incredibly attentive, making sure we had everything we needed throughout the evening. Her genuine warmth and passion for her job were evident, and it truly made a difference in our overall experience.

All in all, I highly recommend [Restaurant Name] to anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience. The service, ambience, and the personal touch from Megha were exceptional. I can't wait to go back and try more of their delicious...

Inspired by a Rick Steve's episode, we found ourselves at The Victoria, a place steeped in legend. Rumor has it Queen Victoria herself once stopped in for a pint, and they named the place in her honor. Talk about a royal endorsement! We arrived on a late Thursday evening and were pleasantly surprised by the lively atmosphere at 10PM. As newcomers to English culture, we were initially stumped by the lack of table service. But a quick trip to the bar sorted us out, and soon we were sipping on an ESB, a Tiny Rebel, and a hot chocolate. The interior was a delight, exactly the kind of ambiance we were hoping for. If only we'd noticed the sign explaining the ordering process sooner. Live and learn! Moses, my trusty plastic sidekick gives The Victoria his staff of approval. So, follow in the footsteps of royalty and enjoy a pint at The Victoria!

Our second attempt at Sunday Roast at this classic bar in London, having looked around for a place around Paddington and Hyde Park to dine in ☺️ ⏰ came by without a reservation around 12, and was glad to see there’s plenty of seats on the ground level - the first floor is for folks either reservation, and it’s significantly busier as compared to the peace we had on the ground level. We were asked to sit anywhere we wanted on the ground level, and to send our order at the counter when we are ready - which works for us since we wanted to split the bill. Food were served rather promptly, both the chicken and pork belly were decent; and definitely a meal that we find hard to solo for the huge portion! We also concluded we didn’t love Sunday Roasts, but definitely enjoyed the tradition and the experience of having it 👍🏻

found this pub on a walk from St. Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, where I had had an appointment. The ESB was in excellent condition, and came in at £6.30 for a pint. I then had an opportunity to try the 2025, yes 2025, Fullers Vintage Ale. It’s 8.4%. It is a sweeter beer than I would normally drink, but it really is very good, and well- balanced. With CAMRA discount (that I forgot to ask for with the ESB). It was £6.20. I only had a bar snack - the buffalo wings which were very good, but there’s a decent menu to be hand and the kitchen is open all day until 10 pm. I found the bar staff to be attentive and friendly, and I had an opportunity to congratulate the General Manager on the condition of his cask ales. I shall certainly be back here again, when I am in the area.
