Unfortunately, we experienced a complete lack of hospitality during our visit. My girlfriend and I arrived and were not greeted warmly by the two staff members at the entrance—we had to initiate and ask for a table ourselves. Moments later, a man who seemed to be the owner came out, abruptly asked how many we were (despite it being obvious), and quickly directed us to sit outside without asking if we preferred indoor seating. He then informed us, rather bluntly, that we had a one-hour dining limit, which felt more like a warning than a welcome.
Just a minute after we sat down, another staff member came and asked if we were ready to order—before we even had time to settle in. At that point, I told my girlfriend we should leave. The atmosphere made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. Sadly, it seemed as though the staff had little understanding of customer service, and their behavior drove us away.
If I could give zero stars, I would.
(Update, answer to your comment:)
When we arrived, the restaurant was not crowded at all. There were at least 2-3 empty tables inside and 3 outside. Only one gentleman was sitting outside, dining alone. So, with around 5-6 empty tables in total, it’s hard to accept that the situation was too overwhelming or stressful for the staff. I fully understand that working in hospitality is demanding—but in this case, the stress you mentioned was not visible, especially considering that the two staff members at the entrance appeared quite relaxed, chatting with each other and not acknowledging us until we approached them and said, "Hi, table for two, please."
It’s important to recognize that the hospitality we received was far below expectations. The other staff who came out to speak with us didn’t smile or show any signs of welcoming us as first-time guests. Instead, his immediate remark was a strict “you have one hour,” which felt more like a warning than an attempt to make our limited time enjoyable.
I read many positive reviews about your restaurant describing it as authentic and highly recommended, which was the reason we chose to visit. Unfortunately, our experience didn’t reflect that. I’m sure your food is of good quality, and perhaps on another day, the experience might be different. However, I also noticed several reviews that echo our disappointment, which suggests that consistency may be an issue.
It seems that the hospitality and professionalism displayed are not always genuine or consistent. While a restaurant can certainly project a polished image, it's difficult to maintain that façade if the foundational values of guest care are not truly in place. In our case, it showed.
During our visit to London, we also dined at several Iranian restaurants—and I sincerely recommend that you take inspiration from them, i want to give you a name but i wont. One of them, despite being really busy with a full house, their service was warm, professional, and truly welcoming from the moment we stepped in.
This isn’t meant to be harsh—it’s meant to help. You have potential, but I truly believe that adopting a more guest-centered mindset and refining your approach to hospitality could make a real difference in the long run.
Lastly, I kindly ask that you not claim the restaurant was full or that you did your best under pressure, as this was clearly not the case. A well-run restaurant should function smoothly even when it’s busy. In this instance, the issue wasn’t how full the place was—it was the attitude and lack of genuine hospitality.
I didn’t take any photos or keep any evidence from the experience, but I still feel it’s important to share this review so that potential customers are aware that the level of hospitality at your restaurant may not always be consistent. For those seeking a truly great and reliable dining experience, Tajrish might not be the best option at this time, as it does not come across as a place that delivers consistently...
Read morePaddington Station in London, a bustling transportation hub that serves as a central point for trains not only within the city but also across England. In close proximity to this busy station, several Iranian restaurants can be found, one of which I visited today - Tajrish Restaurant. As an enthusiast of Persian cuisine, particularly Kabab Koobideh, Tarjish has earned a 4.8 star rating on Google Reviews, so I was eager to try the flavors of this authentic Persian Restaurant. With my curiosity, I went there to provide a quick review of the Kebab dining experience at Tajrish.
Location Tajrish Restaurant is conveniently situated near Paddington Station, a central transportation hub in London. Its proximity to this station makes it easily accessible not only for locals but also for visitors traveling from different parts of London and even for those in other central London areas like Oxford Street and Marble Arch. The surrounding area boasts pleasant architecture and parks, and diverse dining options, making it an ideal spot for a restaurant.

Price The pricing at Tajrish during my visit was around £16-£17, placing it on the higher end but still below the £20 mark. While slightly pricier compared to some establishments in central London, it remains within a reasonable range, especially considering its location.
Half star
Service The service at Tajrish was decent; the owner, often around and friendly, engaging in light conversations, although he didn't inquire much about my background. The Iranian staff, well- dressed and polite, maintained a pleasant atmosphere. However, there was an absence of complimentary starters or tea, different from what I’ve come to expect from restaurants that I’ve been to particularly in Dubai. While not exceptional, the service didn't disappoint entirely, but there's room for improvement. Overall, it fell short of creating a truly memorable experience, lacking personalized touches that could enhance customer satisfaction.
Half star
Quantity The portion sizes at Tajrish were disappointing, offering small servings of rice and kebabs that didn't justify their price. Despite its convenient location and pricing, the portions left diners, including myself, feeling unsatisfied and hungry. There's a clear need for more generous servings, particularly considering the restaurant's positioning and pricing. While such portions might be acceptable elsewhere, they fell short in this aspect. Hopefully they could address this issue to significantly enhance the dining experience.
No star
Quality The dining experience at Tarish was satisfactory but not exceptional. While the rice was of standard quality and the kebabs were juicy, they lacked the distinctive flavor that sets exceptional dishes apart. Overall, the meal was decent, but it fell short of being remarkable. While not disappointing, there is room for improvement in enhancing the flavors and overall quality of the dishes.
Half star
Summary In summary, Tarish restaurant near Paddington Station offers a convenient location and satisfactory service at mid-range prices. However, Tarish restaurant in London receives a rating of two and a half stars, with hopes for improvement in various aspects to enhance the dining experience for both customers and the establishment itself.

Read moreCame here for Iftar with 4 adults and 2 babies. We were met outside by Ghorban, the owner – a big character with serious presence. He knew my name and had our table ready at 6pm sharp. We were seated outside, heaters on, wide street, calm vibe — honestly felt like we were on holiday.
The menu is full of traditional Persian options, but Ghorban took over and said, “Leave it to me.” And fair play — he nailed it.
Starters We kicked things off with the Mixed Starters: Hummous, Mast-O-Khiyar, Mirza Ghasemi, Kashke Bademjan, Salad Olivieh and two big slabs of fresh Iranian bread, straight off the pot. Perfect way to break fast – fresh, balanced, and hit all the right notes.
Mains We shared the Mixed Kebab –One skewer of lamb fillet,Three skewers of minced lamb, One baby chicken, One boneless marinated chicken breast, All served with grilled tomato and rice. Everything was cooked bang on — cooked to perfection, seasoned and spiced properly.
Dessert Now this is where it gets interesting. Ghorban comes back, shows us a video of himself handmaking Persian ice cream and tells us we have to try it. This ice cream? Top 3 I’ve ever had. The flavour’s hard to describe – maybe like cardamom mixed with Turkish delight? – but it works. Cold, creamy, and different in the best way.
We finished with Persian tea served in proper Persian china, which was a beautiful way to end the night.
Honestly, can’t fault a single thing. Service, food, atmosphere – all spot on. Ghorban runs the show like a boss, and it’s clear he cares. This place delivers.
How long do I wait before going back? That’s the...
