New lmperial college building on the White City campus. It's the usual high ceilings with industrial chic finishes. The entrance reception area is of a generous width that allows multiple variations of group sizes to enter and exit without congestion. The cafe bar just beyond reception is open plan so can be quite noisy a d not somewhere l could linger in as an Autistic person. I came to attend a marketing event for Hammersmith's new refurbished town hall. Our meeting space thankfully was clad in sound baffles abd soft materials that absorbed the hubbub of conversations happening everywhere. The room had an assistance lift to get people down the stairs but no one thought to leave one or two seats for us disabled folk to perch on whilst the speeches were made. Please organisers of events remember your older visitors, pregnant women and tired workers who might have the stamina to attend an evening event but find it hard to stand up for 2 hrs at a time. Read moreThe reception is not helpful. They didn't give me any help, how to find CTLS and they forgot to mention that the lift worked only with that card they gave me. I was inside the lift, and didn't understand why it did not go, AND WHY I COULDN'T OPEN IT. Finally I got out and I found the lab on my own, in a really frustrated mood. Being a white cell donor after all of this was a very-very pleasant experience. Next time I will know what to expect...
