The food here is delicious, and the design of the cafe is cute, but the owner is shockingly rude and unprofessional. Iâve been to this cafe a couple of times, but whenever the owner is around, her rude behavior ruins the experience and makes us leave, even when we have a booking. Ironically, her employees are much more polite and professionalâshe could definitely learn how to communicate with customers from them. Hereâs what happened during my visits:
First Incident: I booked a table for three people for lunch on a Saturday at 1 PM via their website a week in advance. When we arrived five minutes early, all the tables were full. I approached the owner and showed her my confirmation email and text message, but she claimed she never received the booking. She blamed a technical error and refused to give us a table. Instead of apologizing, she said, âWhat do you want me to do now?â in an incredibly rude tone. Second Incident: I went with a friend and her dog, expecting a pet-friendly experience because the cafe had previously mentioned being pet-friendly on their Instagram stories. However, the owner refused to let us in, saying that some customers might not like having a dog around while eating and that one of the waitresses was scared of dogs. When I pointed out their Instagram posts, she brushed it off, saying, âYeah, but now this is the situation. Things change.â Third Incident: A friend of mine wanted to try this cafe before leaving London, so we planned to go for an Iranian brunch experience. To avoid issues, I called the cafe the day before to book a table. The owner mockingly told me to use their website instead, adding that itâs âso easy to book, even my granny can do it.â Despite the previous booking issue, I used their system and booked an outdoor table for 10:30 AM. When we arrived, the table had no heater, even though it was 5 degrees outside. When I asked for a table with a heater, the owner said none were available as they were already booked. The cafe was nearly empty at the time, but she still refused to give us another table. She gave conflicting explanations about the heater, first claiming it hadnât been working since the day before, then saying it had just stopped working that morning. Despite all this, she didnât even apologize. I asked why they hadnât canceled my booking, knowing it would be freezing without a heater, and she simply shrugged it off, saying, âThese things happen, and I canât do anything.â
The owner is arrogant, dismissive, and has no respect for her customers. She clearly lacks the communication skills needed to run a business. Ironically, her staff is far more courteous and professionalâI think she could learn a thing or two from them. While the food might be good, the experience of dealing with her isnât worth it. Avoid this place unless youâre prepared to be...
Read moreMy wife and I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bergamot Cafe, a Persian cafe in the heart of London. We were immediately struck by the beautiful and inviting atmosphere of the restaurant. The warm colors and intricate décor created a cozy and welcoming space. We were seated by one of the friendly staff members, who made us feel right at home.
As for the food, it was simply exquisite. We started torshi and bread, which was some of the best we've ever had. Then we had adas and markaroni Both dishes were perfectly seasoned and beautifully presented.
We were also very impressed with the service at Bergamot Cafe. The staff were attentive and friendly, and they went out of their way to make sure that we had a wonderful dining experience. They were also very knowledgeable about the menu and were able to answer all of our questions.
Overall, we had an amazing experience at Bergamot Cafe. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was inviting, and the service was excellent. We would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a taste of Iran in the...
Read moreOrdinarily, Iâm not one to leave reviews, however after the appalling service our group received, I feel you should know what you are about to walk into! Firstly, the food isnât anything to rave about. If you want delicious and traditional Iranian food then look elsewhere. You do not get your moneyâs worth; but at least it looks pretty! Then there is the service; to simply say that the female owner is rude, is an understatement. Thatâs not saying anyone else was fairing much better, the male owner was busy conversing with friends. We sent 2 cold coffees back to the kitchen; we then had to wait while she provided an explanation about how they heat using a âstandardâ method. Thatâs great, but the coffee was still cold. She then charged us for the 2 items sent back because 1 of us took a sip to check the temperature. The audacity! She then felt it pertinent to shout at her customers while her friends looked on in amusement. As an Iranian, all I can say is that Bergamot Cafe is not a true indication of Iranian service. Donât be lured in by the vibes...
