Soma Therapy Rooms posted a leaflet through my door THREE DAYS AGO stating a massage is £60 and 10% off with the leaflet. I called and they booked me in for a massage. However when I mentioned the leaflet price the manager REFUSED to honour it saying it was an old leaflet. It is their error they are posting leaflets with the wrong prices not mine so the price should be honoured regardless. Then they rudely told me to go somewhere else for my massage! They didn't even ask if I wanted to pay the standard price anyway, just told me to go somewhere else! If this is how they treat their customers I'm glad I didn't spend any money there.
Avoid, avoid, avoid! I do not recommend this company at all!
Update 25.08.22 in response to Soma's comments: First of all I am never rude or demanding when speaking to people, & certainly not aggressive. I politely & calmly enquired about the service & mentioned the leaflet which was posted through my door 3 days prior. I actually said very little, was put on hold for a very long time, rudely told to "go somewhere else", not given the option to pay full price, then they quickly put the phone down on me! I was NEVER offered a £5 discount, and the fact is I would have paid the standard price ANYWAY regardless of them contesting the leaflet, so there was no need for the rep to act that way. The main issue here is the rudeness of the rep telling me effectively to p*ss off as directed by the manager. Why would I be looking to get a freebie when I was enquiring about PAYING for a service that was due to start in 2 hours??? None of their comments make any sense.
It says A LOT about Soma when all they can come back with in response to a review are literally LIES! It clearly shows that they are the ones with the malicious attitude. All my reviews are honest, fully justified with evidence & receipts. Funny that they don't mention all my good or 5 star reviews. I'm not spiteful either, I simply just wanted to book a massage & that was the response I got. I've never heard of this company before either until I googled a few minutes prior to trying to book the service on the same day, so that rules out any personal gripe they think I have against them. It's clear that Soma Therapy Rooms don't know how customer reviews work. Just because I give feedback about a bad experience with a company, doesn't mean I'm personally out to get them & the whole community lol! They are being ridiculous, overly dramatic & petty. Instead of making up lies about customers, admit your mistakes and try to improve on your service.
In fact I did go into Soma later in person to enquiry about booking a massage, thinking perhaps it could be just the one-off rude telephone rep, give them another chance. I asked about booking a female therapist, apparently there are several. However the receptionist was flustered, he couldn't work out which therapists were available & when despite repeatedly looking at the roster. I asked for an up to date leaflet so I could look at the services, he looked all around the store and couldn't find one. He then said he "didn't know" which therapist were available and that I should "just look online" despite me being there in person, money in hand ready to book. I left & definitely will not be going back.
Once again terrible customer service, clueless, disorganised and a badly managed business. Avoid,...
Read moreI’m giving this place a 3 because I’ve had 2 experiences there. One was a 5, the other a 1. My first massage was incredible. It was a 90 min deep tissue and was the most relaxing thing I’ve ever experienced.
My second one however...I went in for a prenatal massage. I’m not sure is my masseuse was experienced in prenatal massages or not but it was the most unrelaxing thing I’ve ever experienced. Her movements were fast, jerky, and pushy (at one point I got smacked in the face while she was working on my shoulder). The entire bed, and myself, moved constantly so that we were both rocking nonstop for an hour.
Of the areas most pregnant women experience discomfort, she barely paid any attention to them. I asked her to work on my right hand which she did, but the next day I was left with a giant bruise on my forearm where she pushed much too hard (I asked her to stop at one point).
There were several times I felt like ending the session and leaving, but I kept holding out hope she’d find her rhythm and I’d have an experience like the first time (that and I’d waiting 30 minutes to get in)....
Read moreBeen twice now and each time I’ve felt like my preferences haven’t really been listened too.
Have come out both times with my back more sore than when I went in, despite having having asked for lower pressure and to focus on specific areas.
Overall, I feel things are quite rushed here, there is not much pre-amble, and not much asking you about areas to focus on, or areas that are painful. I felt a bit rushed through the process, and I feel this contributed to not really getting the massage I asked for.
Also - please make sure your masseuses cut their nails - it can be kind of painful!
EDIT:
Peter, this platform isn't your PR firm.
If you like the free exposure Google Reviews gives Soma Therapy, then you've got to be prepared for the potential that people won't always leave glowing, 5 star reviews.
(And for the record, I've never left a review on Treatwell - got that one...
