Do not waste your money or time sending your kids here, this place needs to be under investigation, absolute disgusting facilities, showers are unhygienic, kids go there for 3 days and don't even get a hot drink, when the kids asked if they could have a hot drink because they could see the teachers having a tea, they was told by a rude staff member that the kids shouldn't have caffeine, she needs educating because tea and coffee isn't the only hot drink, lol. Couldn't even have a Hot chocolate round the camp fire.. also the first aid is terrible and couldn't even provide a sling for a kid hurting their arm. Just made a make do sling out of the kids jumper... The food portions are disgustingly small considering your paying £100 a night. The staff are abrupt and unfriendly, They could smile and be kind to the kids. This place needs to be looked at by someone in a higher position to assess this place.. There is no safeguarding in place for a random stranger that could easily hop the fence and sneak into the kids tents the main gate was open for anyone from public to walk in.. cameras do not stop crimes. I will be complaining much further and making sure something is done about this. 99% of parents don't care as they don't bother dropping their kids to the location and see it for themselves. I on the other hand care for my kids and travel with them. So I went and see the state of the place.. maintenance on the grounds are needed big time.. a health and safety inspection is definitely needed and I will be reporting this to someone above. I would seriously like to get my money back for this terrible experience my child had. Literally the only good thing my daughter could say is that they was only professional at the activities and that went well. That is the only good thing about this place. This is an edit after I have posted. I got a reply back from them on here but it was deleted within an hour of them replying. Must have regretted what they said in reply...
Read moreNot a recent visit, but I came here almost every week between 1985 and 1987 with my school and gained the RYA dinghy sailing qualification.
Even in a less H&S conscious era, the training here was very safe and highly effective. I later served in the Army for many years and TYM certainly developed a spirit of adventure that has stayed with me ever since. I even won a medal for dinghy sailing in the 2001 Belize City Games and had an opportunity to take Gurkhas from the Singapore Police on a sailing trip around the Belizean Cayes (islands) in a sandlighter sailing barge.
Shorter version: if you get the chance to do any challenging outdoor activity here, grab it with both hands!
Very many thanks for helping to shape the...
Read moreMy son (6yrs) was quite shy, the staff were considerate and help coax him out. He absolutely loved going to Young Explorers 6 & 7 year olds summer camp he's been to other camps but none of them appeal like this one did. He begged me to book him more days.
If I could make one suggestion is sorting of age groups into separate rooms at sign on. In the big hall there's 100's of kids of all ages. It can be quite intimidating for the younger...
