The Thames towpath walk from Teddington Locks to Petersham firstly passes aside a former gravel pit Nature Reserve, continual thin belts of woodland interspersed with sodden wetland and then the open meadows of Ham Lands and Ham Palace. Wide, even pathway surface with ease of passage for wheelchair users, mostly shaded with pleasing views of the Thames Northern Bank, Eel Pie Island and memorably a panorama of Mable Hill House revelling in its Georgian exactitude. In Spring and summer splashes undergrowth colour provided by bluebells, bugloss, dandelions and the occasional clumps of sleepydick (star of Bethlehem) Be mindful of cyclists and there be no free toilet/refreshment...

Ham is behind a vast park. A really nice and fascinating place to run, hike, etc. Beautiful scenery, benches, and places to sit. This area is excellent for birdwatching because migratory birds pause here. The upper end of Ham Street has a sizable parking lot and room for boat trailers. The broad meadows of Ham Lands and Ham Palace are the first places you'll pass along the Thames towpath walk from Teddington Locks to Petersham. Broad, largely shaded, and offering lovely views of Eel Pie Island, the Thames Northern Bank, and, most notably, a panorama of Mable Hill House, which revels in its...

Lovely riverside walk along this stretch from Teddington all the way up to Richmond Bridge. Picturesque vistas, benches to sit and to set up your picnic. Migratory birds make a stop along this location – great for birdwatching. There is a large carpark and space for boat trailers at the top end of Ham Street. At one end of the parking area there is a slipway just off the riverside walk by the river safety signboard. At high tide the water reaches past the concrete walkway, and you might have to detour via the Ham House roadway, so check tide tables before you...
