Reformer Pilates is no joke!
So lucky to have a Reformer Pilates studio in the area! So convenient and affordable! No matter what your own schedule looks like there is always a class you can attend… so no excuses! You can attend before, during (cheeky lunch break!) and after school or work Monday to Sunday, even on public holidays. The studio offers classes at different levels so regardless of your age, physical condition, whether you are a beginner or experienced there is a class for you! I started with the beginner classes, and I went on to attending the other levels once I was comfortable with the machine.
Each coach brings something unique so would definitely recommend trying as many as you can. My favourites are Vincente, Claire, Rachel, Aurore, Rebecca and Valerie.
The studio is light and bright with heating during the winter and fresh ventilation during the summer. The Reformer machines are laid out so the coaches can observe all students from every angle to ensure safety and correct practice. You get individual attention which allows you to get the most benefit from each movement.
As you enter the studio you must remove your outdoor shoes (there is a shelving unit where you can stow all your items safely). This keeps the studio clean and free of debris. Each Reformer machine is cleaned before and after use. The studio also has washroom amenities.
I have been attending classes here for not even a year and have already notice a huge difference in my mind and body. I would 100% recommend you give this...
Read moreI have physically been to this studio for mat Pilates classes since it re-opened in September 2020 and have started the online classes recently due to the second lockdown in the UK.
Rachel is a fantastic instructor, who always checks in regarding injuries or any areas you want to focus on at the start of each session. She also always pushes you through to the end and I have felt the benefits and regained much of my core strength, having lost it all during the first lockdown!
The in-studio classes have thorough cleaning guidelines and rules to ensure compliance with government requirements regarding Covid-secure businesses, including cleaning of floors and mats directly before and after classes, markers for mats to ensure appropriate distance between attendees, hand sanitiser upon entry, individual boxes for personal items and cleaning spray to wipe down afterwards and appropriate ventilation throughout classes. Of all the places I went to during the re-opening of businesses over the summer (pubs, restaurants, cinemas, offices, supermarkets, shopping centres, train stations etc.), the studio is easily the place I feel most safe and secure.
I qould recommend for anyone new or experienced with Pilates, either in person, as and when the UK lockdown ends, or for the current...
Read moreI am extremely into Pilates / Reformer Pilates and went to the Reformery last year. I wanted to wait a bit until I write this review.
The class was good and the instructor was extremely good as well when it comes to her pilates skills. However, I felt extremely uncomfortable during the class.
I was the only man in the class, which unfortunately happens a lot, me and my partner tend to go to many classes together. However, the first thing that happened in the class was that the instructor said "We have a man in the class!" out loud. I mean yes, it was obvious but I felt a bit uncomfortable in all honesty given it singled me out and I was purely there for reformer pilates. The person next to me said "and that is extremely fine, you are welcome here" given she noticed that the comment was said in a direct, weird way out loud.
During the session, the instructor was also quite aggressive towards me, and belittling saying "oh beginners do this" and "beginners do that" even though I've been doing reformer pilates for years... with others in the class she was a bit more positive / encouraging in her tone and nature.
I am not trying to claim anything here, just simply stating what happened in the class and...
