I had a lovely day out on the river with my friends. Food was good and the crew were very friendly. The company had been told beforehand that one of our party would be in a wheelchair. Unfortunately, as a full-time wheelchair user I felt like I was in the way. I had to be put in a space where I was facing sideways whilst everyone else was facing forward or backwards, but it made me feel quite queasy. I tried to move a little bit so I was kind of facing a little bit forward but I was asked not to block the aisle for safety reasons. There was not a designated wheelchair space which was quite disappointing. I also had a table beside me, which was where they put the fruit for after lunch, and I felt I was in the way as people were trying to get to the fruit. I think that maybe this company hasn’t had much experience of having a wheelchair user on their boat but as an advocate for people with disabilities I feel that I should point these problems out. I didn’t want to make a fuss at the time as I was with friends and we were having a lovely time. I am sure that as they are such a good company who want people to have an enjoyable experience that they will start to look at the way they deal with wheelchair users...
Read moreI took my elderly mum on the three hour fish and chip cruise on 27th September. From the moment we booked in to the moment we left the boat the experience was amazing. Michael was a brilliant host 👏 They seated you in order of your booking which was all very organised and when Michael saw I was having difficulty walking he straight away accommodated me and sat us at the front of the boat which showed his level of care. The views were lovely, the commentary was so informative and with sone humour too. The fish and chips were to die for not an ounce if grease anywhere and very tasty. To top it off there was the added bonus of big baskets of fruit that were put at the front of the boat courtesy of the staff. The fruit was fresh and very tasty and was a lovely added surprise that we were not expecting at all. The boat was spotlessly clean including the toilets and the organisation of the whole trip was second to none. The owners were very friendly and I would recommend their services and this trip without a second thought Thank you for a...
Read moreHad a wonderful day out on the Kentish lady boat trip with some of my family members, I booked the 3 hour cruise with fish and chip lunch which was very tasty and warm. The staff on board were very welcoming, organised and willing to go the extra mile to help with any requests. The day was very warm(36c) but the crew on board had made extra precautions to limit any heat related issues, including supplying cold water and facial sprays(bottled watered sprayed on the face to keep cool) which helped immensely. If you require a beverage or two the boat comes with a fully licensed bar, serving all sorts of refreshing drinks including the complementary tea or coffee. I would highly recommend using the Kentish lady cruise along the medway, especially as they are right on my front doorstep and easy to access despite the fact I have mobility issues. I Would like to say a big thank you to Mike and his crew for making my day out very enjoyable in the sun, I will definitely be using this service again.
Many thanks,
Mrs PA...
