I took my youngest to the travelling fairground. It was a busy park. There were baseball courts, playing fields, swing parks, trees and benches. At the time there was a political rally in one corner with lots of labour-supporting sign-waving parents and their banner-holding children ("Hey kids lets go to the park" poor souls, imagine the disappointment). I digress, the main reason too dislike the park was not the politically- enthusiastic parents but the clearly visible amount of drug abuse an dealing. One woman was passed out on a bench in a zombie like trance. Two helpless looking PCSO's stood over her like it was another day in the office. in other areas children on bikes were passing packages for cash. There was a menacing darkness in the park which no summers day could...
Read moreSadly this park has been neglected by the council - it's poorly maintained. The grass is far too long for children to play on eg football or cricket and if your dog has limited mobility it makes it a tough terrain to walk on for humans and furry friends. It's such a shame the council do not invest in this park for the local communities to really enjoy like they have with other parks eg Alexander park. There is a small play ground for the children which is well used by local families...it just needs a little TLC by the council and it will be a lovely...
Read moreIt's alright to walk about, swings and OK areas for kids, but you have to me next to them at all times as there broken glass and drug paraphernalia everywhere, alcoholics and drug users everywhere and people treat the place like a dumpster because they just don't care and theres no rules or help or well anything, needs money and work done to it so kids can be safe and not worry about needles. I will add pictures of it next time I'm there which will be soon because of the weather and it's the only park my freind has available with her...
