Regency Guesthouse Manchester — Hotel in Manchester

I made a review last week about my experience and was told to take the review down by the proprietor. I have decided to leave said review up for people to be aware of what it is like. Since my stay at the regency guesthouse I have been given a partial refund for my troubles despite an awful lot of reluctancy and duress. I have chosen to leave honest reviews about my experience again so people can make a fully informed decision on whether to stay or not. Be aware that the manager at times can be rather manipulative and weird but on the whole is OK if everything goes according to his business running. Another thing to note is the walls of the rooms are paper thin and you can hear everything and anything that goes on around you. Should you decided to" get it on " if you will, you will be heard and everything will be heard. Please also note there is no room service, no reception desk or area and no doorbell. I wouldn't even suggest staying one night because the value for what you pay is not worth it! You get no TV, no radio, no tea or coffee station, no iron, hairdryer, or decent towels. No bathmat. Please save your money and dignity by NOT staying in this awful place.||||I paid more for two of the nicer rooms family rooms, upon getting there in the evening. I was told that they didn’t have my rooms available and they had already gave them away to someone else. They were only able to offer me two of the worst rooms in the place. No refund, even though they were a downgrade and cost less to book.||||I was completely stuck and had to stay there. No other hotel was available at the time. They took full advantage of the fact that I had already paid upfront. The manager wasn’t even on site, spent 10minutes on the phone to him, he was rude, disrespectful and condescending. Never once apologised. And told me to go.||||The bathrooms smelt awful and hadn’t been cleaned in weeks, and someone had defecated in the toilet and not flushed.||||Absolutely appalling, disgusting and my worst experience ever. Arrived here not expecting much as I hadn't booked it however on entering our room I was pleasantly surprised. We booked the deluxe family room which had 2 doubles in. On walking in it was clean and spacious, and the way it's design allows for you to set up a snack, drinks area while your getting ready. There were enough sockets to ensure you could charge phones, pop a speaker in and curl your hair at the same time. We had the first floor to ourselves so the bathroom was pretty much ours. The owners were very good too. The toilet kept flowing up so we rang and they fixed it, it was a bit cold in our room and they fixed it. Nothing was too much, they even gave us a later check out time because we explained we'd be drinking and we'd still have alcohol in our systems too early. I would definitely recommend and...
