Peg & Parrot — Restaurant in New Forest

The serving staff are lovely, friendly and prompt! 10/10 for the staff!

My Archers’n’lemonade was £4 which is extremely good value for money so again 10/10 for that.

Now, I’m not easily offended or shocked or peevish HOWEVER the table of men getting louder and belligerent was off-putting - not because I’m a female but because their language and topics of conversation would be better-suited to either a private environment or when the pub is busier so others can’t hear what’s being said.

It didn’t feel very welcoming. The staff behind the bar couldn’t have failed to hear them! They were locals and from the array of glasses on the table (not in a judgmental tone) so clearly the staff don’t want to interject too much.

They did give me a couple of looks but I just put my headphones in, did my work & enjoyed my drink.

I’ll be in the area regularly for a few weeks but shan’t be making a return visit - I understand that it won’t affect their business one iota!

Fantastic pub with a fantastic atmosphere ❤️ This is my local I live just across the road & I love having this pub on my doorstep, Jess & the team are fantastic always smiling always happy to serve you & a really nice atmosphere when you walk in. They have a lovely garden which is perfect for sitting in in the summer time & lovely heaters to keep you warm in the winter time. We had been see Joe Wells at The Attic comedy club and weren't ready to go home yet. So when to the Peg and Parrot. Greeted nicely by the staff and some locals which set the tone for a good evening.
