All the young children in our family will watch the boats go through the lock, it is a perfect example of a mechanical lock. Standing here you get a sense, through the old buildings what it was like when the waterways transported goods. Maybe one day to ease congestion on our roads, we may go back to transporting goods & commute by water, could not think of a more relaxing way to go to work. Adjacent to the lock is a small sensory garden maintained by lovely volunteers of the Canal Trust, very knowledgeable on the canal & gardening.
