Newbiggin is in need of some TLC, the prom could be so much better if people picked up after their dogs and the council reinforced the rules, there's a couple of places worth a visit one being the new cafe/restaurant on the south of the promenade, excellent food and drink a little pricey but worth it, also the Queen's head near the north side of the town, super food and competitive prices also great staff, one small cafe on the main road just before you go out of town going south on the left-hand side, can't say how brilliant it was the food and drink was fantastic as was the lady in charge, if we were to go back it would only be to have another cream tea. The beach is sandy and I'm sure would be great in the summer. The local Co-op Food is only a street away and there are cafe's and bakeries open for take away treats. There is plenty of space to walk and the car park even has an ice cream van. Secret tip, if you are driving into the village turn right at the Cast İron Shop sign, drive past Northumberland Water and there is a small quieter car park at the bottom on the left near a small kids play area. Enjoy it, but don't tell...
