What a lovely beach. Towards Church Point, where there is free car parking, the beach is mostly rocks which is absolutely great as it creates some good rock pools. Me and my daughter (f8) spent a couple of hours climbing about, paddling and just enjoying our surroundings. We then had a wander into town which wasn’t really very big but had places to eat/drink with a few independent shops. We then walked back to Church point along the sandy beach which had some beautiful shells on it. Lots were empty barnacle/limpet shells with a good few snail like shells. Plenty for little ones to play with and enjoy. Daughter didn’t want to leave, absolutely loved it and we’ll definitely be back 😊

A beautiful place to be! Whether you’re looking for a play on the beach or a walk along the sea front, Newbiggin is a truly wonder place. There are plenty of toilet facilities, bars and restaurants, cafes and ice creams for you to enjoy or simply sit and look out to sea. Free parking is available and the promenade is easily accessible for buggy’s and wheel chairs.

I'm a local so I'm a bit bias. I've always loved this place. Folk, visiting with dogs. Be aware that the south of the beach has a dog ban between end of May - September. Not that folk take much notice. People leave more mess than the dogs! In the lighter months though, if you go early, you get the beach to yourself. Calm weather, you can catch a decent sunrise.

Newbiggin is in need of some TLC, the prom could be so much better if people picked up after their dogs and the council reinforced the rules, there's a couple of places worth a visit one being the new cafe/restaurant on the south of the promenade, excellent food and drink a little pricey but worth it, also the Queen's head near the north side of the town, super food and competitive prices also great staff, one small cafe on the main road just before you go out of town going south on the left-hand side, can't say how brilliant it was the food and drink was fantastic as was the lady in charge, if we were to go back it would only be to have another cream tea. So come on Newbiggin council clean up and enforce the rules make the place good enough for people to want a...

This is one of my favourite spots, every visit is different, high tide and great walk along the promanade. At low tide rock pools and more beach to explore. The beach is sandy and I'm sure would be great in the summer. The local Co-op Food is only a street away and there are cafe's and bakeries open for take away treats. There is plenty of space to walk and the car park even has an ice cream van. Secret tip, if you are driving into the village turn right at the Cast İron Shop sign, drive past Northumberland Water and there is a small quieter car park at the bottom on the left near a small kids play area. Enjoy it, but don't tell...
