On the spur of the moment, because of the winds, we ducked into this lovely little eatery on the off chance of maybe sourcing a Sunday roast. Although very busy, staff were able to seat the 3 adults, 2 children and 2 Frenchie pups. The waitress told us there would be a bit of a wait as they were incredibly busy, which was definitely true! We were served by a lovely young lady who was extremely kind especially to the children and our dogs. Made to feel very welcome. Even a biscuit for all their furry customers! It felt really homey and comfortable and the service came with a smile, kindly explaining the size of dinner each one was. We ordered and then the hot chocolate arrived… mmm all the comforting calories of a fabulous hot chocolate topped with cream and cute marshmallows. Delightful! The food when it came was worth the wait. Delicious roasts, extremely good portions for every size portion and definitely won our respect and admiration. Ours was definitely fresh, not frozen as someone suggested and with the meat a vast array of beautiful fresh veg, mash, roasties parsnip, mashed swede (I think) and beautiful tender finely sliced meats perfect for someone who finds chewing somewhat difficult. We had low expectations because so often these seaside eateries do serve precooked food and you can stick to the carpet in any Wetherspoon’s and get your microwave meal. Here the atmosphere was cosy and lovely and we were all treated very well by the smiling waitress, who must’ve been wishing service was over and that she could sit down and take a load off. Food was beautiful and we enjoyed every bite. The cost was incredibly reasonable, so much so that I think we can afford to eat here approximately 2-3 times a month without breaking the bank. So lovely and patient was our service that I tipped the young lady as well as I was able in cash and the rest was an easy card payment. I don’t know who the complainers are, but we found the place friendly and like stepping back a bit in time, to a nicer era where people still cared about each other and service came with a smile. We really enjoyed a lovely lunch and living in Lynemouth just down the road and been here since 2022 but only now discovered you! We will definitely be regulars here and looking forward to bringing my daughter and her little family along! Our dogs, much to our surprise behaved brilliantly, less so the children… I’m sorry they were a bit loud. Everyone left having eaten a filling but so delicious dinner and our thanks and applause to the chef who made it all delicious and the service, which was 1st class throughout. A thoroughly enjoyable experience. The bill was incredibly reasonable too. You certainly have a big thumbs up from us. We think you have it exactly right here and hope we too will end up like old friends when we have got to know each other better. The dog friendly policy is just another 👍 from us. I can be quite critical but can find no fault in food nor service. Amazing. See you on Sunday! Thank you all for your kindness, great cookery and patience, even with our more unruly minors. We’ll be back. Just about to book it now for next Sunday! Thank you all so much for giving us such a lovely experience. So good. I feel like Christmas, happily soporific, with a full belly of delicious food and the hot chocolate on a blustery day was just what we needed. Made my day! Thank you all so...
Read moreWaited 30 minutes for 3 paninis and a microwaved jacket potato, which wasn't even hot enough to melt the nasty pre grated packet cheese that was dumped on top. We could hear the unmistakable sound of burnt bread being scrapped in the kitchen and of course the smell. When the food finally arrived the waitress told us " these are a bit well cooked I had the machine set too high" if we hadn't waited so long and weren't so hungry we'd have not eaten them, they resembled Rivita in colour and texture, not surprisingly we weren't asked if everything was ok during the meal, on paying I suggested that I might receive a discount for the burnt paninis and luke warm jacket potato it fell on deaf ears, no response at all. The lack of customer service is shocking, especially in the current climate, you should make every effort to ensure your customers leave happy and will return and reccomend. I was a bit dubious about entering The Endeavour due to the shop front looking tired and shabby, I should have gone with my gut instinct. If you fancy a gamble give it a try as there are some good reviews, but there are some awful ones too. I personally won't be gambling with this place again and certainly wouldn't reccomend it. In response to your patronising reply (which seems your standard practice to reviews) it wasn't extremely busy at all, we were the only table in when our simple order was taken, thank you for the apology for the standard of food that left your kitchen which in my eyes is admittance to the below average standard, I'd have been embarrassed to even send it out, no comment spoken by a customer should be brushed off or laughed at which I see has happened in the past. We only ate the food because we'd waited so long and one of our party needed to eat, replacing the order would have taken even longer,As for the cheese why would you sprinkle anti caking agent on fresh cheese hmmmmm, once I've had all the appropriate vaccinations I'll take you up on the offer of entering the kitchen, response to response Thank for your apology, however one would have been nice at the time. 'What would i have you do? A refund would be nice or a discount at least,as suggested when we where there. I'll send my account details...
Read moreNice bottle of beer. Forget about the food. Absolutely awful. Greasy pies watery filling not a sign of any substance in the pies. The curry wad so awful it was quite funny, kind of like a watery chip shop curry without the taste or flavour. I would avoid this place. Almost £40 for really low quality food. Service was just as bad. In response to the owner :- I did not say to Rachel that everything was ok as when asked I did state that I wasn't happy with the food, to which she didn't, reply & I did expect this to be questioned. As the bill was £38 I told Rachel to take £40 (this was courtesy only). On ordering the 2 bottles of ale with Rachel we asked what ales were available & was told no idea as changed every week, you then came over with 2 bottles which we accepted (we did think there would be more choice although the ones we had were good). So I am sorry you do not agree but I do not class this as...
