Wonderful Beach and Headland. Tide comes in and the beach gets a little small, but there's still plenty of room to spread out and soak up the sun and the fun on the beach. There's life Guards on duty, couple of small shops, cafe, restaurant and a Pub called The Mermaid Inn. The Headland is an easy walk from the beach and has a little cafe at the start of the footpath. the Pub is on the beach and so are the cafe and a little shop in the wall behind the carpark. This beach is one of the better ones along this stretch of coast near Newquay and is well worth a couple of visits from your 2 weeks in Cornwall. Just visit this place young or old and you'll come away with some good memories

Can't put into words how much this beach means to me. I'm 38 and I've been going since the age of 3. It reminds me of so much. Camping with my family, walking along the beach with my father (who has now sadly passed away ). Building sand castles and thousands of other things from my childhood. Sadly I hadnt been able to visit for nearly 10 years until this year and nothing has changed. It has such character, it's reasonably quiet, the waves and water are amazing. Simply gorgeous 🥰🥰

One of the best beaches in town my friends :) and I am serious ! Beautiful sand , big space , incredible surrounding and beautiful sunset . I regret that there is not much left from historical monuments like iron bridge and old shipyard . Being there wants you to experience this history and you know that something is missing and maybe you would like to travel in time to see how it was then .

Great beech, but BEWARE of the main carpark next to the holiday park. Tried to pay using the parking app advertised. Took 20 minutes to connect as an absolutely rubbish area for phone signal. Confirmed we had paid and gave us a receipt. Now we have received a fine through the post, saying we haven't paid. No doubt automatically issued as we hadn't paid within 15 minutes of arriving. We are now appealing with the evidence. I'm hoping some local councillor or official picks this up and improves the local network as its currently not fit for purpose. I'm sure the parking company and owner of the land don't care as the fines are a nice little add on to the profits they already make with parking fees! Heads a heads up to motorists. Anyway, enjoy the beach as it...

Brilliant place to swim and rockpool. I spent a whole day here In hot weather sunbathing and swimming. The beach is amazing and goes on seemingly forever. There are lifeguards on duty and the mermaids inn is at the head of the beach. A good place for a reasonably priced meal or snack and a drink. You can sit in the shade and relax after a fun day swimming etc. I was amazed at how the beaches all linked up when the hide went out far enough and how many critters in the many rockpool. A lot for kids to do outside in the fresh air. A very clean beach and access to watering hole, coast path, holiday site as a base and gorgeous scenery. If this is your thing then I rate it right at the top of places for families or singles. Will definitely be coming here...
