19-07-23 - Visited the area for old times sake & just to chill out. There are plenty of drinking & food establishments around & this is the place to buy a decent pasty (not the disappointing Ogy1) that I came across on my travels the day previous. For a week day the area was extremely busy (kids break up for their summer hols earlier around this area of the UK?!?) & the beach was heaving. Make sure you take a stroll down to the harbour & maybe catch a glimpse of a couple of local seals who seem to enjoy keeping the tourist boats company.

Brilliant coast, more to see and do than we had expected. The centre of newquay is a little run down but if you venture out on to the coast there are two beaches to visit, one has plenty of rock pools to explore and the other is a surfers dream location. We stopped for a picnic up on the cliffs and it was so idyllic. Spent a good 3 hrs walking round here! Will be coming back.

Newquay has a number of beaches that stretch over the coast and you will find numerous people that it attracts, from holiday makers to locals and even surfers that travel from local areas to further a field. The beaches of Newquay offer alot from public gatherings of friends and families, paddling and surfing the sea etc. very popular in the summer and is real golden sands

Fistral Beach is much better and safer.

Overall Newquay Beach and the town is Very run down and rough. I felt pretty unsafe walking around even on the beach. Millions of dogs on the beach was a complete nightmare as not evennon leads just running upto you no apology from owners. Really added to the rough feel of the place.

It's such a shame as it has potential to be a great seaside town. Needs a lot of updating and work done. And no Dogs on the beach. All the hotels are very run down in the area and there are no nice restaurants at all!

We stayed at fistral luckily which is very nice and there is 1 decent...

1st visit here to the lovely beach, loads of people swimming, surfing and body boarding.

Good public showers for after the sea and plenty of places to eat, surf shop and reasonable price parking if you can get a space, we went on a week day and it was pretty mental trying to get a spot to park, there were spaces but people hadn't parked straight 😂.

I'll be getting a body-boarding lesson next time I'm here.

Make sure you listen to the life guards and stay between appropriate flags for your activitie and...
