Be aware, there is NO parking available for this "out of the way" tea room. All of the food available is home made, bread and cakes made direct from the mills ground flour. Unfortunately this place is still keeping the public outside (covid restricted).. as of Aug 2023. So either pick a warm day or wear some warm clothing. The food on offer is of a high standard although a little expensive. There is a single downstairs toilet which is kept clean, running hot water inside and outside the toilet with a number of hand sanitizer bottles placed conveniently. The mill is open to the public with photos and information dotted around showing its history and renovation. The owner (David) has done extensive genealogical work in finding out the past owners and the history behind the mill. There is also a small seated video room showing the mill in action.

A little slice of heaven! This place feels like magic. My partner and I are staying in Devon for a few days to celebrate my 30th birthday so I wanted to go somewhere nice for some cake. I did some googling and saw all of the incredible reviews for Hele Mill. It really is everything everyone said it would be. The couple who own the mill were incredibly welcoming, I don’t eat dairy and Kathy said she would get me a fruit scone and whip up some dairy free cream for me (I usually have to go without) so this was such a treat. We a had cake, scones and tea. A little Robin was there, it was genuinely magic. Definitely arrive hungry! We also watched the film about the Mill and did the tour which was really special. We will definitely be returning again x

Been here twice now very fresh well worth the money compared to other afternoon teas in some places I've bern in north Devon, , Everything is fresh and homemade. Staff are lovely. Worth visiting the old corn mill on open days check there website. They take credit cards now .. Park in Hele car park for a hour to all day at £1.70 cross over the main road it's down a path pass a few houses , there is no parking but you can drop off and go.. Easy access for anyone who can't walk far and down stair the toilet are. Very dog friendly too.. We sat out side everytime enjoying the gardens there.. Maybe squeeze one more visit in before me leave this stunning part of North Devon. And the beach is dog friendly so a nice day out with the family.. enjoy..

A lovely little tearoom in such a great little location. The tearoom and mill are nestled in the trees on the footpath to Hele Bay.. The food is fantastic and Cream Teas are stand out item and must be tried. The mill has been turned on to lovely little museum with some working exhibits and a great video show as well. The hosts are lovely folk and will do their very best to make guests feel welcome. They are especially good at keeping youngsters entertained with story dice or hunting for millstones... You may also glimpse the resident Robin Red Breast. A visit is essential of staying in Ilfracombe..

Amazing place to stop for lunch or afternoon tea. We've visited many times and it's always been excellent. The mill is open for you to walk around and has a very rich and interesting history. You really can't go wrong with any of the cakes, however, they are all so good be prepared to have cake envy when you see the cakes from others in your group. They also offer a good selection of Gluten free and Diary free options and there's clean and accessible toilets on site. Definitely worth visiting if you're in the area and worth detouring past it if you're not!

A wonderful place to head for a change from the beach - A working mill that you can walk around, with clear descriptions of all the workings. There is also a short film that shows how the mill works…. And then an amazing coffee shop that serves delicious cakes and scones, (and sandwiches, I think?) made from flour from the mill. Excellent, friendly service. I went with an octogenarian and two children (11 & 14) and we all loved it! Highly recommend a visit!
