Had a dinner with some friends here and the atmosphere is really great - some Ibiza-vibe background music which we enjoyed (but might not be for everyone). Plenty of seating, also some comfortable lounge options.

Great drink choices and good wine and the staff were all really friendly too.

I had Mussles which I looked forward to for a long time and I was not disappointed! The portion size, delicious creamy broth and overall quality of the food was superb! Everyone else was very happy with their steaks, scampi, catch of the day and burger too!

The only thing which was odd was that there were a few items we saw delivered to other tables which were not on the menu (we were told it was just the board). Some people had Lobster but fair enough, they must have already changed the board as apparently only one portion was left. The board also mentioned just one burger option but another table had some burgers which definitely had some tger fillings. So if guests can give other wishes and there are additional items that can be ordered, we recommend letting customers know as it'll make an even better experience.

We had a great time and great foor overall and the menu thing is just a recommendation to go a little...

We have been visiting this pub every year for quite sometime now and we have never had a bad experience. There is a smallish menu although it is larger than shown on their website but there is also a specials board with 3 or 4 extra choices. They always have a number of fresh fish options with plenty of other choices for non fish lovers. Most of the meals are offered with a choice of 2 sides which I think is a good idea, on this occasion I went for The Bass Fillet with sides of New Potatoes and Dressed Salad, my partner Kim went for the Scampi with Fries and Coleslaw. Both meals were very good, the Bass Fillet was the joint best meal that I had during our 7 day holiday (the other restaurant being S Q Bar & Restaurant in Braunton). The pub itself is absolutely gorgeous (see photo's) and the service was spot on. If you love fish then this is the place for you. Strangely, being so close to the sea, this was the only pub that we visited during our week away that had a good selection of fish options. We are very much looking forward to visiting The Thatched Inn again when we are next...

Called in this evening around 7:30 garden had plenty of free tables and people were eating. Although we got a lot of strange looks we continued into the garden. We read the A frame blackboards and followed the instructions of where order drinks and food. There was nothing to say when food was no longer available I.e. a time We stood at the hatch looking at the menu, a member of staff came to the hatch and just said sorry we are not serving food now.. It was very abrupt and discourteous not even an offer a drink or of a suggestion of another place close by. We got the impression we were not welcome and came away feeling very disappointed. We’d had a great long enjoyable day exploring the local area and beaches, to end the day like this we were very disappointed. It seemed like the only people welcome we the locals. Would definitely NOT recommend this...

Situated outside the main area of the town in a residential area. Inside the pub/restaurant is nicely decorated and comfortable, however the outside area could do with some serious upgrading to the picnic style wooden benches. Perhaps more modern, comfortable outdoor furniture would assist in making the pub look more appealing. The menu is not extensive, however it does offer a decent selection of dishes. The food we selected for our evening meal was tasty, cooked perfectly and with good sized portions. The desserts were also good. Prices were in line with other pub/restaurants in the area and offers decent value for money. The staff were all friendly and welcoming. Note: At the time of our visit, this pub closes at 10pm (food served until 8pm), so not ideal if you are planning on staying for a few drinks after your evening meal.

We have been here a couple of times before and really enjoyed the pub and atmosphere. Today's visit was okay but lacking in areas. The tables were sticky even though we'd reserved a table, so no people there before us. We have an awkward child and checked the Internet before coming to check that they had a pasta dish on the kids menu (they had Macaroni cheese) but when we arrived, no pasta dish. The food was still really good. The steak was good and cooked properly... often at places medium is overcooked but this was good. Service was also good. The menu was limited and empty specials board :-( The place was quite empty which isn't how we've seen it before. Parking was difficult, very small car park.
