Dear Tunnels Beaches,

I’m trying to find the words to show my gratitude to you, but for the first time in my life it seems I am speechless.... However I will try.... When we booked your venue it was raining and cold in the winter and even on that blustery day we thought well we love it now so it will be amazing on the big day and so the journey began. The madness of 2020 began and we had a false start and your support made us feel incredibly lucky when we understood the hardship you and others in our situation were facing. You handled the postponement with incredible compassion and calmness and we are thankful in itself for that. No one could imagine the stress that was to come and again your continued attention to communication was second to none and put us at ease at every stressful unknown turn. Then it was true ... it was happening for us! There is nothing we would change about our experience with you and your venue. What you do at Tunnels Beaches is second to none. Let’s start with the accommodation... our guests were blown away as we were too when we first viewed it! We hired the Bath House and Courtyard and everyone was comfortable and we enjoyed the space over the 3 days with Paella on the first day and BBQ on the last evening. The decor and attention to detail is mind blowing. I wanted to see everyone’s reaction and did about 20 tours on the first day and was exhausted haha, but it was soooo worth it to see their faces! Ok, next.. THE BIG DAY! You are a well oiled machine and even though we were aware of other weddings taking place on other days it didn’t encroach on our privacy and you certainly have every detail covered, but let me say that your staff are the most attentive and warm bunch of humans. They are a credit to you.... I didn’t get all their names but I would like to say a special thanks to Jax- you are amazing! Maribelle - who was waiting with canapés when I came off the beach because she didn’t want me to miss them (a sure way to my heart)! Rebecca - an absolute legend who looked after every single one of us and dealt with my demands graciously and perfectly. To all the others who may remain nameless you all hold a special place in my heart! To Jamie, Tanya and Catherine keep doing what you do it’s perfection.

Right... THE FOOD! Whaaaaaaaat can I say about that??? I don’t quite know how to say it so I will quote our guests ... “This is the best wedding food I’ve ever had” and “Wow this wedding food is insane”... amongst other things along those lines all with mouths full of the tastiest food known to man... I think that should cover that! Thank you chef and all the other staff who made that possible.

So now we have returned and I am on cloud ninety nine ... Thank you for having us in your slice of heaven in Devon. I have attached a few pics while we wait for Mark’s to arrive! We hold you in our hearts forever and we will be back soon to see you all!

If anyone reads this and and are still unsure about whether this place is for them ... let me tell you all ... it IS! Don’t miss out on having your wedding here! It’s out of this world!

We love you Kimmy & Russ...

We tied the knot at Tunnels in July 2019, and cannot recommend them highly enough as a venue. Everything about the day went exactly as we had hoped, and we are so grateful to them for all their hard work, which made our day so special. The venue is incredible, steeped in history as a victorian bathing resort, and yet the main building appears modern, slick and stunning. The curved design with with wide sweeping panoramic views of the north Devon coastline was perfect; the sunset dancing on the water as waves crashed on the beach below was heaven! Several guests were awestruck, and several were saying that it felt like we were outside the UK!

The staff were the most efficient, helpful and friendly bunch you could imagine. As an example, the photographer was blown away at the sheer speed with which welcome drinks were distributed after the ceremony - she was singing their praises as she see's a lot of weddings! I was impressed at the way staff would always be smiling and checking in on us during the day, and they never failed to offer us a drink when they saw us empty handed - its these small gestures that show that they really want to make sure your day is perfect.

The catering was second to none. The sheer volume and variety of what was on offer was brilliant. The food was colourful, delicious and plentiful. Everyone was telling us how they loved the variety of the food. Special dietary requirements were well catered for and everyone was well fed. In particular, we loved the lamb kebabs and the squid kebabs were delicious. Several guests were pleased that there was the option to go down for seconds!

The sound system and PA all went very smoothly, and the set up is well connected with music able to be played throughout the venue. The band and cabaret act set up and played with no issues or hitches - the system worked perfectly on the day and sound quality and volume was exactly what we wanted.

The pre-wedding and after wedding administration has been a breeze, Jamie and the team have always been so well organised and they were happy to answer any question, large or small, in the lead up to the wedding. We always felt we were in capable hands, the whole operation is so well organised and slick! Thank you so much to all of the staff at Tunnels for making our...

Tunnels was the first and only venue we visited. We booked a visit in with Tanya for early October 2016, prior to the new extension and The Courtyard. After being showed around The Bath House and Tunnels Beaches itself we were completely in love with it, but it was when we were stood in the little gazebo looking out at the view that we knew 100% that this was where we would get married. Words can’t describe the feeling it gives you. We booked The Bath House and Tunnels there and then for one of the only weekends they had left in 2018.

In March 2017 Tanya invited us to a wedding fair/open day at Tunnels. This is where we found our musician, Roger Styles and our photographer – Anna Pumer. There aren’t many better suited to this venue than those two. Jamie then showed us the plans for The Courtyard, which we didn’t hesitate to book.

From the initial booking to the day, if we had any queries or issues, Tanya or Jamie were always available for us and in the weeks leading up to the wedding all the final details are confirmed and the whole process is made quite easy.

When we arrived, Tanya showed us round and got us checked in, we were particularly excited to see The Courtyard at last. Then we were able to greet the rest of our guests staying there. We opted for the 'Meet & Greet Paella' the night before and it was one of the nicest meals we’ve ever had, most of our guests went back for seconds and thirds.

On the wedding morning Jacs was a massive help, organising the day and taking a lot of the stress away so we could focus on the important things and in the evening Pete took over and he helped sort the Band, dish out the cake and made sure the evening went smoothly. They both deserve a special mention and thank you.

The Gourmet BBQ, Canapés and Pasties were all amazing, people are still talking about the food. Same as the Paella the night before, people were going back for thirds.

We’d just like to thank Jamie, Tanya and the amazing team at Tunnels Beaches for the best weekend and Wedding ever. We can’t wait to come back...

We recently attended the wedding of our Son and his fiancée at The Tunnels and had the most incredible experience from start to finish. Our family stayed in the Woodlands 9-bedroom accommodation, which was perfect for such a special occasion. The property was immaculate on arrival – spotless throughout – and felt both luxurious and homely. The kitchen was particularly impressive, equipped with a large oven, dishwasher, and two fridge freezers, making it ideal for group catering. The shared balcony and spacious patio were lovely spaces to gather and enjoy time together. The wedding venue itself is simply stunning, set over three floors and overlooking a private beach that gave the whole day a magical, exclusive feel. The layout was thoughtfully designed, making the celebrations flow seamlessly. The food was absolutely amazing – plentiful, beautifully presented, and with a great selection to suit all tastes. What really stood out were the venue hosts. They were friendly, helpful, and exceptionally well-organised, ensuring that everything ran smoothly so we could relax and enjoy the day. Beyond the wedding, we were pleasantly surprised by how much there was to explore nearby. Ilfracombe harbour is charming, with lots of independent shops, bars, and restaurants, while the surrounding area offers plenty of beautiful beaches within walking distance or a short drive. Overall, The Tunnels is a breathtaking venue in a perfect location, with outstanding accommodation and staff who go above and beyond. A truly unforgettable experience – highly recommended
