Ilfracombe Art And Craft Society — Attraction in North Devon

Am really disappointed , I happily paid over the odds , £26 for a scarf as I believed it to be produced by a local artist, during covid it has been difficult for so many creative people ,I wanted to support local artists and designers only to find that the scarf when examined had a label that said made in china on it . . . ..I cant Express my disgust as to the deceipt involved in this . . I was on holiday and have been made a fool of because I have no opportunity to return it . .I don't want people to tar the other artists with the same brush but dont go being taken for a fool . . .dont buy anything unless you can be sure REAL local artisans have created what is being sold. . . Beautiful shop, amazing prices and handmade peices, would have spent more money but the people behind the desk were rude, said hello to everyone else apart from us when we walked in, told off my little boy for nothing and looked at us as if we were dirty. sadly won’t go back...
