An excellent place to visit and we were lucky enough to visit on a Heritage Open Day so it was free. It's a very complex building with parts dating from many centuries from the 13th onwards but there was a good display to help visitors to understand its history. Some of the rooms are displayed as they would have been at a particular point in history and they are often very atmospheric. I particularly liked the Walnut Room. In the room where 18th century judges at you could almost sense them tucking in to an ample meal and sharing a few jokes before sending some unfortunate Norwich residents to the gallows. Read moreThe building is deceptive, it looks quite small outside but inside it's a labyrinth of staircases and many rooms around every corner. Thankfully there's a route to follow to make sure you don't miss anything or get lost. There were a couple of volunteers available who answered any questions you had on the history of the hall. The rooms are a little bare, some pieces of furniture and small display cases, slightly disappointing. But there is a children's area and a quaint garden. Overall about an hour to spend for a fiver to get in, it's not amazing but it's...
