This is a fascinating building. We only saw a part of it because we wandered in when we saw it as we were passing by while on a weekend trip to Norwich and it turned out to be a day that it wasn't open to the public. The staff there were getting their things together to go home, nevertheless we were invited to come in and look around the main hall while they were locking up and had a bit of the history explained to us. We would certainly have come back for the full tour another day, but were going home the next morning. Based on what we saw I would certainly recommend this place, but suggest checking the opening hours first to make sure it is one of their public days.

Had a wonderful experience last night on the Christmas through the ages guided tour. Very informative but relaxed and fantastic to see the house at night too. Beautifully decorated in each room/ period of history. Then mince pie and mulled wine to finish. They even had gluten free ones for me. Thank you to the guide and staff. Really stating to feel like Christmas now. Will definitely look for other activities they do in the future and visit the house .

Had a brilliant visit to Strangers' Hall yesterday! The history lesson from the knowledgeable staff and volunteers in various rooms added a special touch to the experience. The building exceeded expectations, spanning over three floors with centuries of fascinating information. While I only captured a couple of pictures, the depth of history and architecture at Strangers' Hall makes it well worth a visit for anyone keen on delving into the past.

An excellent place to visit and we were lucky enough to visit on a Heritage Open Day so it was free. It's a very complex building with parts dating from many centuries from the 13th onwards but there was a good display to help visitors to understand its history. Some of the rooms are displayed as they would have been at a particular point in history and they are often very atmospheric. I particularly liked the Walnut Room. In the room where 18th century judges at you could almost sense them tucking in to an ample meal and sharing a few jokes before sending some unfortunate Norwich residents to the gallows. Occasionally the commentary was not quite thought through. A prominent picture of a Jacobean lady in the main hall appeared in one of the paddle boards but it was difficult to find out anything about her,...

The building is deceptive, it looks quite small outside but inside it's a labyrinth of staircases and many rooms around every corner. Thankfully there's a route to follow to make sure you don't miss anything or get lost. There were a couple of volunteers available who answered any questions you had on the history of the hall. The rooms are a little bare, some pieces of furniture and small display cases, slightly disappointing. But there is a children's area and a quaint garden. Overall about an hour to spend for a fiver to get in, it's not amazing but it's...
