My favourite local park. It's a great place to sit in the sun and relax, or have a walk around at any time of the year. It has a fenced off playground for young children, a skateboarding area, football pitch, ball courts and outdoor gym equipment. I love the history of it. It used to be the site of the Nottingham Lunatic Asylum which closed in 1901(you can find a remaining wall) and became a public park when King Edward came to the throne, which is where it gets it's name. I live in Scotland. The local people think it's acceptable to tell my Grandchildren to get off the equipment. Read moreThe skatepark is an interesting use of the limited space/funds I'm assuming the council had. It works well if there's just a few people using it, but if there's more than 5 people skating it it will be come very crowded. It has some interesting features like the ride on slappy curb, Pier 7 style manny pad and the gap over the rail.
I can't help but think how much better it could be even if they just put flat concrete in the center. A well made park though and worth...
