Lovely little historic landmark filled with amazing local history and artifacts. The volunteers are friendly and are wonderful at answering questions about the windmill and objects inside of it. Anyone who comes should be aware that the steps inside are very steep and are hard to get up if you have mobility issues, however the staff are helpful in giving advice on how to go up and down them. It is staffed by volunteers who are very knowledgeable about the history of the windmill, and of Rayleigh. Read moreVisited for the 1st time ever in the town of my birth. Lovely to explore, must be reasonably able bodied as to go up to all the floor as the stairs are very steep. The volunteers that were there on every floor were extremely knowledgeable and I learnt alot. Free admission but a £1 donation per person.
